Why Choose Zapata Travels Over an OTA?

Travel is a multi-billion-dollar industry worldwide. Everyday millions of people travel, whether it is for work or leisure. Everyone will travel at some point in their life whether it be a vacation or a stay at a hotel a couple of towns over. We are in the day and age where everything and anything is at our disposal with a click of a button. Of course, if you have the option to book a flight, cruise, or hotel through an Online Travel Agent whose programming can give you anything you want in the matter of seconds, who wouldn’t jump at that opportunity? OTAs, or Online Travel Agents (i.e., Expedia, Priceline, Orbitz, etc.) are all the rage, allowing people to book their own vacation. With a click of a button, you can fly anywhere in the world. However, there may be a few things about OTAs that you did not know.
In these unprecedented times, OTAs lost their validity with the start of this pandemic. OTAs shut phones off and would not help customers unless they were within a 48-hour time frame of traveling to their destination. People lost a lot of money because they booked through an OTA and did not get traveler’s insurance. Below are a few differences between OTAs and what we offer here at Zapata Travels.
Booking packages through travel agents have their advantages. Researching different destinations is not only time consuming, but overwhelming. At Zapata Travels, if you have the dream, we bring it to life for you. We get to know you, find out your preferences, and work hard to provide you with the best deal within your budget. We develop relationships with hotel properties, airlines, cruise lines, things the OTAs do not have.
We will ALWAYS give you the total price. OTAs may show the best price but may not include resort fees or per diam taxes which are often due to the resort upon arrival. Travel agents go through all information with you and answering all questions and concerns that you may have. Travel agents will ensure their clients are up to date on all policies and ensure their clients have all their documentation together for easier, stress-free travel.
Travel agents are making a comeback especially after this hard blow of a pandemic. We, unlike OTAs, will pick up the phone and ensure to resolve any issue you may experience on your travels. Travel agents always have their clients’ interests in mind, we are here for YOU. We have all gone through unprecedented times. When did you last explore a new interest or hobby? What are some other things you'd like to explore? Over this past year I have reflected on what I want my legacy to be, and how can I accomplish it. I decided to get into the travel business, a business that I can do from home and I can work around my family instead of the other way around.

Who inspires you? What have they accomplished? What makes them successful? What qualities do they posses that I admire? I am bless to have many role models in that I have seen grow over the years within their respective businesses. Whether it be a side hustle or a full-time job I have seen many ladies getting that paper. I love that they actually enjoy what they do. As the saying goes "if you love what you do, you will never work another day in your life." These ladies have really inspired me and made me ask myself when is it my turn. I then answered myself by saying now. Now is my time, today is my day. Ladies you have inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and go for it. Ain't no stopping me now!!

What kinds of distractions prevent you from focusing on your work? What do you do to get past them? How do you prepare yourself to focus?
Making sure one is on task is a struggle especially trying to build your own business at home with kids. I am blessed to have an amazing partner that supports everything I want to do and takes care of everything else so I can be a boss.

Starting a new business there are many mindset adjustments one has to go through to be successful. If you miss today it’s ok, tomorrow is a new day just go in with a new strategy!! ❤️
