Most people count calories on Thanksgiving. I’m counting countries, sunsets, and stories collected (this week it’s Austria, Czech Republic, & Germany). Grateful for a life where the world is my table and every destination is a new course. 🌍🍽️ 📷

This was what I saw a week ago as we were flying back home— heavy hearted with the news about East TN and Western NC where I was born and raised. It’s taking me a week to process all the destruction I’ve seen in videos and pictures of the places that will never be the same. I’ve finally come here to ask for your support. From my sister that lives near all the flooding in East TN (and is an RN):
We know the owner of the bean tree café in Hartford. She did not have flood insurance. She’s had to be treated for chemical burns on her arms from the mud. The toxicity of the mud at Hartford is testing radioactive. Just received word. That’s no conspiracy. Just fact. She’s trying to rebuild after the cleanup. She’s the type of person that would have fed everybody that she could come in contact with if her restaurant was still standing.
