Day one and we have been spoiled ROTTEN by the The Charleston Place.

They put us up in a club level room, and we came home to the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, bottle of champagne, tower of sweets, and the kindest note from the sales director.

Charleston is known for its hospitality, and this hotel is over the top!

⭐️ I had no idea what quitting my 9-5 job to become a travel agent would cost me⭐️

When I quit my job in February of 2020, two weeks before the world shut down to become a travel agent, I had no idea what changing my career would cost me.

Leaving my 9-5 cost me:

👉 The stress of having to be in an office everyday- I have the freedom to work from anywhere in the world ( literally, in my case- I have worked from Turkey, Greece, Mexico- the list goes on and on)

I am SO excited about this trip I am working on for my clients.

They. Are. Going. To. ANARTICA.

This expedition cruise is the perfect blend of luxury and adventure, and they are going to be living out some of my bucket list items like:

🐧 Going on a zodiac river safaring, searching for signs of Sei, fin, blue and humpback whales

🐧 Hanging out with rockhopper, Magellanic and macaroni penguin chicks as they begin to hatch

🐧 Spying on some King penguins ( can you see a theme of what I'm most excited about?!)

Ok Party People- time to sound off.

I just made a reel on Instagram (itskatiejobro) about some of the newest travel trends, and I'm FASCINATED.

Have you heard of these? Would you try these? Give me your thoughts!

🧳 Skiplagging- when travelers book a flight with a connection but get off in the layover city and do not take the remaining flights in the booked itinerary in order to save money- it may save you money, but it's very prohibited by the airlines, so if you're caught, you will be banned by the airline!

🧳Bleisure Travel- blending of business and leisure travel. There are two main types of bleisure travel: business trips or group business travel (https://www.cvent.com/en/blog/events/business-travel) that is extended on the front or back end of a visit, and business trips taken with friends and family coming along for the ride- AMAZING opportunity, as long as you actually have the time to truly vacation!

🧳 Setjetting- traveling to destinations they’ve seen spotlighted in their favorite TV shows or movies- just make sure you see *other* locations in the country then just what's featured on the show!

🧳 Solo Travel- Solo travellers go on trips by themselves, without friends or companions- a great opportunity to explore the world- just make sure to go to safe locations and/or with a travel group!

🧳 Destination Dupes- alternative vacation spots that are more budget-friendly and less crowded than already-popular destinations- amazing if you don't have a specific location in mind, and you want to save some money!

🧳 Shoulder Season Travel- traveling in the period of time between a region's peak season and offseason- my favorite travel hack if you have flexibilty in your schedule!

When a previous came to me wanting something unique for her daughters senior trip, she was originally thinking Europe.

This honeymoon was SO much fun to work on.

I met these clients through my Instagram page, and they were trying to come up with a location that was unique, but still has some all inclusive luxury.

Enter- Curacao.

I know my clients are going to love this oceanfront infinity pool, dozens of fine dining options, and the safety and uniqueness that Curacao has to offer.

Party People- I am SO excited.

One part of my job as a travel advisor I don't post about a ton on here is the destination weddings I assist with. This year alone, I will help six couples get married in paradise, and it's truly one of my favorite things to work on.

Yesterday, I was connected with a bride to be that had a negative experience with another travel agent, and they were looking to get married at one of my favorite resorts in Mexico.

Because of the awesome relationships I've made with some of the best people in the business, less then 24 hours later, we've got her wedding date booked, and 40 rooms on hold for some of their favorite people to celebrate their nupitals- and this is just a small sample of the weddings this resort has done.

We just got back from our amazing family vacation and this spectacular resort, and Party People, we had THE.BEST.TIME.

We didn't take a lot of photos but we did-

🏝️ Eat more mangoes then our bellies could hold

🏝️Nap atleast once a day

🏝️Read an entire book (Garrett, not me. Someone had to entertain so the other could read).

🏝️Eat lunch in the pool ( all Theo wanted from our trip)

🏝️Make so many memories

Mexico, you have been so sweet to us.

✨Thank you so much to everyone who has submitted a quote request this week. It's so very rare I actually take time off, and these two get the brunt of my *slight* addiction to work. Thank you for allowing us to have this time together.

My boys have made it to Mexico and my heart ( and our hot tub that we overflowed with bubbles) is so full.

When we decided to come to Mexico Theo said he only wanted two things out of our trip:

1. To order food and eat in the pool
2. That mommy wouldn't work and we could play all day

So, needless to say, I am going to be out of the office until the 31st. As a travel agent I rarely take full days off, but when your four year old asks, you've got to listen.
