Bryce Canyon is amazing to shoot in the morning. This was a trip with a few photographer friends to catch the sunrise. We finished the day by shooting sunset at Zion.
I really wished I had a wider lens for my Bronco, this was the 80mm and I could have used a 65mm on this shot. I had a hard time finding a good composition that I liked and had to settle for trimming the base of the ponderosa pine.
I can’t quite get the colors right for this video, the details are quite fantastic on this one. Can’t wait to run back up and shoot more of Bryce Canyon.

Willis Creek is a beautiful slot canyon in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument (GSENM). This was a good time of day as the light was fairly even for my composition.
I shot this on my Bronco SQ-Ai and decided to add some neutral density to allow for a slower shutter speed. This allowed me to jump to a 2 second time, but I shot it at 4 seconds assuming a little reciprocity would kick in and to help smooth the reflections in the water ripples.
You can see that I used the mirror lock-up to help prevent vibration. The leaf shutter on these lenses is so smooth. I know Kodak Gold isn’t ideal for this type of shot, but I wanted to test a few rolls on landscape scenarios that I’m faced with around Kanab. I had to boost the saturation a little bit. I feel like it doesn’t respond very well in low light situations.
