As the summer tourism season has ended for us we are sad it ended but Excited at the same time !!! One of our own And the second Team Member from our Girdwood Summer Sled Dog Adventure has signed up for the 2025 The Iditarod Hunter Keefe and his team of Huskies that spent there summer in Girdwood, Alaska home of Alyeska Resort giving folks from around the world a sled dog experience. Hunter will head down the trail again joining fellow girdwood team member Ryan Redington and Redington Mushing. We wish them a successful healthy safe memorable season ahead good luck Hunter and Ryan!!

Our big races are finished for the season, and while we still have snow it's time to try out some of the older pups in harness! We ran a small five dog team yesterday, lead by Bolt and Stuart, followed by rookies Lightning, Saltine, and Beau/Earhart Junior. The team went out and back about five miles and they all did really well!

After a awesome summer, and an amazing fall Ryan and his team are in northern Wisconsin training for the season ahead. Redington Mushing has a training schedule that travels thousands of miles making their way back to the great land of Alaska. We’re excited to see the team and watch their progress.

Warrior and Ghost today. Warrior is 2 years old and today is learning to be a lead dog. He has Ghost next to him and is helping teach him what it takes to be a lead dog. Ghost is one of the two lead dogs that led us to winning the Iditarod this year. Ghost and Sven won the Lolly Medley Golden Harness award in this year’s Iditarod. Warrior is an upcoming star of ours.

It’s time for another round of 🐾2023 Dogs of the Iditarod🐾where we are highlighting the incredible 4-legged athletes that were at the starting line of this year's Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. The next team on the lineup are the dogs of our 2023 Iditarod Champion, Ryan Redington!

Lead Dogs: Rivet and Quigley
Swing Dogs: Henry and Ghost
Team Dogs: Sven, Singe, Bolt, Vrabel, Elvis, Splint, Wildfire and Journey
Wheel Dogs: Cloud and Seymour

When asked about his team this year, Ryan said, “Our dog Wildfire recovered from a traumatic snowmachine accident and 3 fractured leg bones to start in this year's race. Also super proud of our lead pup Ghost, who finished the last four Iditarods for me in lead to Nome!”
