It's so wonderful to see businesses reopening in Lahaina.

I remember walking on the oceanfront in Old Town Lahaina and enjoying the sea breeze and the amazing views and not to mention the great food, then just 2 years later, tearing up as I watched the news and saw the fires burn these structures to the ground.

The award-winning Mala Ocean Tavern restaurant reopened Thursday on Maui, after being closed for five months, and is now taking reservations. The building survived the Maui wildfires, and it's one of the few oceanfront structures still standing in Old Lahaina Town.
