🍻✨One year on the road✨🥂
🌟Well we blinked and discovered today is our one year anniversary of traveling this amazing country!
🌟It was a year ago today we took off for our adventure on the Spirit of Tasmania, a little bit excited, a little bit exhausted and a whole lot ready for a special 12 months exploring our island home, sharing amazing experiences with our kids and escaping the daily grind and stress we had morphed into back home.
🌟No one could have predicted the uncertainties of 2020 and when Covid 19 hit we were devastated at the thought of our long planned adventures coming to an end.
🌟We are eternally grateful that we were in WA and had the freedoms to continue to explore and keep our dream alive. Being Victorian, we have been exposed to what our families and friends have endured over the past 9 months, making us acutely aware that family and freedoms should never be taken for granted and we are blessed to be living this life.
🌟It hasn’t all been sunsets and fairytales, living every day in a 20ft tin can (during a once in a lifetime Pandemic) comes with its own challenges and homeschooling grievances could have its own blog post entirely!
🌟But overwhelmingly the love, connection, spark for adventure, respect for nature and watching the growth and inquisitiveness blossom in our children, makes the journey one our family will treasure for a lifetime.
🌟As we find ourselves about to embark on a few months of work and settling in Mandy’s birth place of Perth, we fondly reflect on the incredible experiences we have shared and amazing families we have done it with.
🌟Find below our top experiences, beaches and camp spots we have discovered this far. They are in no particular order and we may be a little WA biased, as we have been fortunate to spend 9 months exploring this place thanks to Covid. But as we’re frequently told by the locals “West is Best” 🤣🙊
