Sport is a huge part of the daily life of the city and is reflected with its golf courses which hold the Open, the world famous Grand National at Aintree - home of the greatest horse -Red Rum and the world champion boxers such as John Conteh and Tony Bellew. Current favourites Molly McCann and Paddy Pimblett are also gaining the city recognition as is the Calderstones tennis festival- the biggest outside Wimbledon. The Royal Albert Dock houses a variety of things to see and do whether you wish to dine in the many bars or visit the museum. We have 2 cathedrals; either end of Hope street and the famous Saint Georges Hall with its Minton floor, concert room from where Charles Dickens read or perhaps the chilling cells of the courtroom which held infamous trials such as Florence Maybrick

Titanic's tragedy in 1912 was particularly devastating for the people of Liverpool. There is a memorial to the engineers who tried to save the ship and you can also visit the Philarmonic Hall to see the tribute to the orchestra. You can visit the hotel 30 James Street in the former Headquarters of the White Star Line to see many artefacts or the Adelphi designed by Thomas Andrews and integrated with many of the features in the ship. A short drive away are the homes of the Ismay family and Captain Smith

The UNESCO awarded waterfront is recognised throughout the world. Take a ferry ride across the Mersey and appreciate how splendid it is. You can enjoy a 360 tour from the Liver buildings or take afternoon tea in the Cunard. Perhaps you would like to enjoy the Festival Gardens or take a short journey to see Anthony Gormleys "Another Place" or visit the habitat of the Red Squirrel

Liverpool has an array of Art galleries for your awe and enjoyment. The Walker holds many world famous pictures such as Holbeins portrayal of Henry VIII. We also have the Tate for modern & contemporary exhibitions including recently a selection from Andy Warhol. We are also fortunate to have several others such as the Open Eye, the photographs of Chambre Hardman and Sudley House the former home of the Holt family. Not to forget our range of street art including the odd Banksy
