Everyone always wants to wait until all their kids are the *perfect* age to go to Disney. But what is the perfect age? And once you throw in multiple kids, lining them all up for that sweet spot isn’t so easy.
So then you end up delaying it. Waiting for the younger ones to catch up to the older ones. Trying to get to the oldest before they feel too old.
Every time you delay it, you miss a moment with one of your kids. You delayed your oldest, who is now too cool to meet characters. Your delayed taking your middle who now thinks Bibbidi Bobbidi isn’t fun. You delayed taking your youngest, who missed those sweet toddler moments.
The point is: there is no PERFECT age. There is a perfect time though and only you can determine that. Whether that’s now, next year or three years from now. When your budget, your availability, the excitement and all the other cards line up.
Don’t push it off because you’re worried about lining up all those perfect ages. Just take the trip before it’s too late and you miss all those perfect moments instead.

Disney’s After Hours is such a unique way to experience the parks. This special ticketed event gives you the opportunity to stay in the park until the late hours! Crowds are non-existent. Popcorn, Mickey Ice Cream Bars and Sandwiches, soda and water are all included. But is it worth it?If I had to pick one, it is 100% worth the price to experience Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios After Hours. Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios have so many rides to choose from. Plus, Magic Kingdom has a special viewing of Enchantment during the after hours! Be ready to pivot. Pivot your expectations, your plans, your attitude.
Things don’t go as planned sometimes while home, so why are we putting the pressure on ourselves and our kids that they should go perfectly in Disney World?
Your dining plans may change.
A break you didn’t intend to take will happen.
They may be scared of characters.
A meltdown will happen.. and then again.
And that’s ok! If you go in with low expectations of the trip, all the other stuff is bonus!
Here are some things I’ve learned over the years after traveling with small kids:
⚪️ Don’t park hop when the kids are smaller. Focusing on one location without the pressure to move is helpful
⚪️ Don’t over do it with dining! Plan for at least one sit down meal a day to give everyone a reset
⚪️ Pick a few must-do rides and get those done first. Everything else is a bonus!
⚪️ If your kids are not feeling meeting the characters, let it go (see what I did there?!). Watch a parade or cavalcade… distance makes the heart grow fonder!
Don’t let them being small stop you from taking the trip. They got this. You got this!
