💰🚤🎣 Get ready to reel 'em in! The $110,000 Hot Springs Fishing Challenge is back, May 1 - July 31 on lakes Hamilton and Catherine in Hot Springs, Arkansas! Big Al is the grand prize fish, worth a whopping $20,000, named after Al Capone, who frequented Hot Springs in the days when the city was a haven for gangsters.
65 prize fish will be tagged and released into Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine by our partners at the Game and Fish Commission’s Andrew Hulsey Hatchery. The Hot Springs Fishing Challenge will begin Wednesday, May 1 and run through Wednesday, July 31, with prize fish like Big Al worth $20,000, one fish worth $10,000, four worth $5,000, 40 worth $1,000 and 20 worth $500. 🏷️ Tagged fish will include largemouth bass, bluegill, red ear sunfish and channel catfish.
☎️ Each prize fish will have a distinctive tag, and those who catch them are reminded not to remove the tag and to call the Visit Hot Springs Fish Phone at the phone number on the tag.

🐴 Meet the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales in Hill Wheatley Plaza, 629 Central Avenue, on Thursday, May 2 in Hot Springs, Arkansas! The eight-horse hitch will be harnessed and hitched to the famous red beer wagon from 5PM - 8PM, along with their Budweiser Dalmation!
The Clydesdales’ appearance in Hot Springs is one of hundreds made annually by the traveling hitches. Canadians of Scottish descent brought the first Clydesdales to America in the mid-1800’s.

🗺️ Bring a paper map of where you are going or download directions to your phone ahead of time. Cell service could be spotty because of the large crowds.
💵 Carry some cash! ATMs will be overloaded, and tap to pay may be disrupted if cell service goes out.
🚗 Crowds are inevitable — give yourself plenty of time to get to your viewing spot. After the eclipse, stay put for a while and avoid the traffic rush.
💊 Bring everything essential with you — don't think, “We’ll just pick up what we need when we get there.” Stores, pharmacies and restaurants may have limited services or long lines due to high demand.
⛽️ Fill up before the eclipse. Gas stations will be busy, and traffic will be slow. Don't run out of gas — just plan ahead with a full tank.
