💃 I´m happy to announce that Hike Catalonia is back with more new excursions and day trip plans!

The group has grown 🆙 by 15 people since we stopped the trips last year. We are nowhere 💥195 💥 people. A warm welcome to all! 👐 I hope to meet you one day soon 🤞

As we have a few new fellow hikers in the group I want to remind you of the regular "drill".

1. I announce the hike plan here in WhatsApp chat so that you all could be ahead of the general public :) You can reserve your spot in advance, but please do it only when you are 100% sure that you´ll make it.

2. Then after a while I announce the plans on social media and accept people who want to join outside inner circle too.

There are plenty of benefits to joining the organized hike trips.

However, I believe that in the information age we live in everybody should be able to find free and quality content that helps to do things on their own.

This is why I decided to write a series of articles laying down all the main aspects of organizing a hike.

I want to contribute to free access to everybody enjoying a hike on their terms.

As well, I believe that every person has a shared responsibility to take care of the environment we share.

In my opinion, one of the best ways to awaken (or remind) this is by connecting with nature.

I hope it will inspire people to get out, connect, appreciate the beauty of nature and eventually take decisions concerning the environment we all share.

The guide and the founder of this group Lina Paul is Lithuanian.

Lithuania is a small country with less than 3 million people inside. But we might be double outside.. and we do not sit still!

The founders of the project created an interactive map visualizing businesses or activities founded by Lithuanians. It helps to know each other, we can visit fellow Lithuanians and support their businesses.

Sadly the rain caught us in Siurana and this Saturday's hike is moved to 🌞 Sunday.

We will do a hike that allows enjoying this magnificent mountain at 3️⃣6️⃣0️⃣ degrees.

⏰When? Sunday 19ht of September. Departure at 8:00 from the pickup point next to Parallel metro station.
🚗How? By car. We have 2 (maybe 3) spots available.
🏋️‍♀️Hike level: Intermediate Route ~11km Elevation gain ~450m

FYI 🐕 Blacky (7.5kg dog) will join the hike and the ride in the car.

I love this place, I have been there 3 times, and I cannot wait to be back again. 🧗🏻‍♀️Mountain climbers also adore this place, be ready to meet many of them on the way!

We invite you to have a glimpse of one of the most epic Catalan mountain peaks - Pedraforca. We are talking about real mountains here!

We will start a hike in Bagà town, pass the impressive Roca Tiraval, have a look at Pedraforca and on the way back we will settle down for a reconnecting and grounding yoga practice.

We'll explore some breathing exercises, light movement and stretching followed by a meditation with essential oils.

Most of the people who spend some time in Catalonia stumble across the image of Montserrat - the impressive round mountain chain close to Barcelona.

However, did you know that there are more round top mountain ranges in Barcelona surroundings?

Many first-time Hike Catalonia hikers confuse National Park's Sant llorenç del munt mountain tops with Montserrat.

Aren't they impressive?

What an experience we had yesterday! 🙌

☔All week - non-stop - I was checking weather forecast with the tiny anxiety in the back of my mind. Even Lina's "rain dancing" ritual wasn't calming me down 💃

🌞But all worries, as usual, were waste of time! Weather was perfect, group - super positive and whole day adventure - amazing! 💯

Few clouds and light breeze was great helpers to use energy more efficiently and enjoy fullest breath taking views, cuty Medieval village and stretch and relax during the unusual yoga session! 🧘🤸

This was the furthest stop from Tossa in our weekend hike. You won't find kids or elderly people in this beach, it is simply too difficult to enter it. First of all you have to make a narrow and slippery ~300 stairs, which are attached to the cliff facing the cala. But the real challenge is crossing the rocky water pass. You find it in front of you at the last step of the stairs. Nevertheless, this does not stop people from bringing kayaks, beach coolers full of beer and guitars... Latin music sound, topless girls and dancing groups filled every little peace of this beach. More remarkable than this was only the night swim above the sky full of stars.

These two 🦋🦋 butterflies made a love 🌈 scene on my head. I think they thought my head is huge butterfly of their species and they just were looking for thrilling experience in their short lifes 😂 Whatever was the case, I had two butterflies on my head for about 3 minutes. Who can say they had it more 🤔

Costa Brava is the tourist attraction here in Catalonia and not without the reason. Eyesight gems - rocky coast, wild beaches (calas), curvey mountain roads, green&brown&blue as much as you see - cannot leave you without an impact! For challenge lovers it is also a rewarding place to spend time. Camí de ronda last through all Costa Brava and this weekend we did a small route of it. Enjoy the views together and if you have chance - pay a visit yourself!

First public hike after pandemic confinement was on fire 🔥Litteraly! +30° degrees is not the best condition for a hike, but we did not allow it to stop us. Day of beautiful coast, short stop in the beach with friendly and open-minded bunch of guys, sharing life stories, mixing Spanish-English-Lithunian sounds... It was worth it!
