Due to overwhelming demand even if you’ve been conditionally approved for Global Entry, getting an appointment for that final approval can be far, far away.

I’ve come across a service called “Appointment Scanner” that will give you alerts when someone has canceled an appointment and it becomes available for you to book. (FYI - fee involved)

I don’t have any personal experience with this service, (it was mentioned on the podcast “Life Hacks”) but seemed worthwhile to pass the information along if your one of the very many who would like to have TSA precheck and more easily pass through customs upon return from your adventure.

Make sure to double check the expiration date on your passport and send in for renewal at least six months before your next trip as the State Department is over whelmed by an unprecedented demand for both new applications and renewals.

A record number of passports — 22 million — were issued in 2022. The State Department is "on track to break" that record in 2023.
