As we continue to celebrate Black History month Microsoft hosted a Coffee & Conversation with CBC Chairman Steven Horsford. ☕️ Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Fred Humphries, moderated a conversation that broached an array of topics - from the CBC’s vitally important work to support equity initiatives in corporate America to the recent Super Bowl. Microsoft Senior Director of Congressional Affairs for the House of Representatives, Stephanie J. Peters, Esq., welcomed us all with incredibly insightful remarks that emphasized the importance of the arts in connection with Black History.

¡Viva Poder! The team came out this week to support PODER PAC at their Holiday reception. A huge thank you to Minority Whip Congresswoman Katherine Clark, Rep. Congresswoman Delia Ramirez, Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez, Rep. Andrea Salinas, Rep. US Rep Nanette Diaz Barragán, and Rep. Congresswoman Norma Torres for coming out and celebrating Poder PAC this week. Poder PAC has had an exceptional year under Co-founders Catherine Pino and Ingrid Duran, along with their first ever Executive Director Ilse Rodriguez. Poder PAC is currently supporting 6 endorsed candidates for 2024 and have various others in the pipeline. We had the opportunity to hear Federal Communications Commission FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez's first public remarks this week. CHCI hosted Gomez as part of their “Celebrating Latina Excellence Series.” Gomez spoke about the FCC’s current and future work. She discussed the steps the FCC is taking to increase engagement, such as protecting survivors through bill separating with the Safe Connections Act. Gomez made it clear that Digital and Broadband Equity are top priorities for the FCC, and we look forward to working with our friend in support of these priorities.
