The Israelites were joined by other foreigners in the exodus, other slaves from other nations. God’s heart for the nations and salvation is in display even in the exodus of his people from Egypt.

When it comes to Laodicea, this city in ancient Phrygia had a complex reputation within the early church. While it was known for its wealth and affluence, it also struggled with complacency and lukewarmness in its faith.

Despite Laodicea's shortcomings, Epaphras and Paul worked diligently to encourage and guide the believers there, urging them to rediscover their fervor for Christ. Their efforts aimed to help the Laodicean church grow stronger and more faithful.
