Our family just made this. What are some of your favorite recipes for a chilly winters day?

This is my mom's dense, excellent, and definitely unhealthy banana nut bread recipe. It's always completely gone in minutes. This is great at parties, but hazardous at home. HEALTH WARNINGS: EBNB may be habit forming.

There are so many wonderful trails in and around Harnett County. The Cape Fear River Trail is a mere 25 minuntes from Lillington and is well worth the trip. Biking, walking, running, or whatever your pleasure, this trail is unbeatable.

In 2021, work from home could become work from any home as remote working continues to be a reality for many people. In the survey commissioned by Airbnb:

-83 percent of respondents are in favor of relocating as part of remote working.

-A quarter believe they will be able to ‘live where they want to and work remotely’.

-One in five of those surveyed have relocated their living situation during the pandemic either temporarily or permanently.

-60 percent of parents are very or somewhat likely to consider working remotely and traveling with their children if schools continue to be disrupted.

-Unsurprisingly, Gen Z’ers and young millennials are most likely to believe they can move to a new location to work or study remotely.

Who doesn't love a small town!! Its a great place to go and relax.

As of the census of 2000, 2,915 people, 799 households, and 484 families resided in the town. The population density was 730.5 people per square mile (282.1/km2). The 894 housing units averaged 224.0 per square mile (86.5/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 54.75% White, 40.55% African American, 0.79% Native American, 0.45% Asian, and 2.26% from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 4.08% of the population.

Of the 799 households, 25.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.5% were married couples living together, 18.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.4% were not families. About 33.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.26 and the average family size was 2.88.

In the town, the population was distributed as 15.2% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 40.4% from 25 to 44, 17.5% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 141.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 154.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $30,670, and for a family was $42,366. Males had a median income of $30,305 versus $23,214 for females. The per capita income for the town was $13,664. About 12.4% of families and 20.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 31.2% of those under age 18 and 20.4% of those age 65 or over.

Lillington is the Heart of Harnett. Harnett County was formed in 1855 from land given by Cumberland County. It was named for American Revolutionary war soldier Cornelius Harnett,[3] who was also a delegate to the Continental Congress. The first settlers came to the region in the mid-1720s, and were followed by Highland Scots immigrants. The Scots settled in the foothills, where land was more affordable, rather than in the rich alluvial soil area of the coastal plain. After the defeat by the British of Bonny Prince Charles at Culloden, Scots immigrants came up the Cape Fear River in ever increasing numbers and settled in western Harnett County. British immigrants had settled primarily along the banks of the Cape Fear River in the coastal area, generally from Erwin to Wilmington.

Lillington was named after Revolutianary War Soldier, Brigadier General John Alexander Lillington. Originally known as Harnett Court House, Its name was changed to Lillington on October 19, 1874 with a population of 98. Today the population is over 3,600.
