Another wonderful mid-week walk yesterday at Erewash & Aldercar. Some wonderful spring bird song & hunting Barn Owl. To top it off was a bit of sunshine and the air filled with lots of singing Song Thrush.

Magical moss today up in the Prak District. Curlew, Lapwing, meadow Pipits & Skylarks too.

Starting off at Erewash Meadows we will walk through wetland meadows, grassland & woodland. Then moving on to follow the River Erewash to Aldercar Flash Nature Reserve with more wetland habitat & open water. An 8km walk from Hollin Bank Car park to Redmires reservoirs passing by Stanedge Pole. Taking in multiple habitats and the species that visit there in early spring.

The wonderful Nightjar can be a difficult and unpredictable bird to see. Join a small group (6 max) on an evening walk, keeping our eyes and our ears open. 2 - 2.5 hours of pure joy. Also possibly see Cuckoo & Woodcock.
