Many reservists have gone home but Yoni's unit just got notice that they'll be serving for at least another month. In every other place in the world , if you get a call at 11:30pm asking for a room for a few hours, you can assume the worst. In tzfat, you aren’t surprised to hear that someone is calling from the ARI’s kever (gravesite of a great rabbi) and needs a place to sleep for a few hours until he can go to the early morning vatikim prayers at meron.

For many years, there's been a swallow's nest on the ceiling of my porch. The couple (I'm assuming that it's the same ones) return every year and lay eggs. Then, about July-ish, activity gets a bit crazy as they start swooping back and forth all day, feeding the little ones (I'm assuming...what else would be going on?). I can hardly see anything that's going on but each evening, the parents return to the nest and settle down for the night. And it gives me the feeling that, for one more day, all's right with the world. (Forgive my lousy photography.....i haven't figured out how to zoom in with my camera)
