**Proud Dad Moment:**

Just smashed out a run along side Tyrone McKeith in support of Musekese Conservation Ranger Teams.
Tyrone and his colleague Phil Jeffery Created Musekese Conservation. From nothing but passion and hard work, they have built something truly remarkable, dedicating their lives to the protection and preservation of Kafue National Park.

Today, their Ranger team is taking on the Wildlife Ranger Challenge—a grueling 23 km run with full pack—as a testament to their commitment and strength. This is on top of the vital conservation efforts they lead every single day, standing on the front lines to safeguard one of Zambia’s most precious ecosystems.

If you’d like to support Musekese Conservation and the brave rangers who protect our wildlife, the link is below.

Happy 98th Birthday, David Attenborough!

Watching his wildlife documentaries on Sunday evenings with my mum ignited my deep appreciation for nature. This passion led me to establish Busanga Safaris. The inspiration didn’t stop with me; it passed on to Tyrone McKeith, inspiring him to earn a degree in Conservation Ecology. Together with Phil Jeffery, they founded Jeffery & McKeith Safaris, which evolved into Classic Zambia Safaris and Reel Nature, which, in one of those crazy twists of fate, see them now collaborating with the BBC and others in creating wonderful documentaries at the core of Sir David's work. Most importantly, this journey led to the creation of Musekese Conservation.

Musekese Conservation is dedicated to preserving wildlife and their habitats, ensuring a safe future for the very scenes that once captivated me on television.

Our legacy is a continuation of his. Happy Birthday, David Attenborough!

Sunday quiz (ish). Full disclosure I was not there this time.

Here is a selection of mind-blowing photos from a recent safari to the Zakouma National Park, expertly guided again by Doug MacDonald.
Take your time and look closely. Reply with your list of mammals = 1 point per mammal and a bonus 1 point for the specific species/subspecies, + 2 points per bird species. The highest score wins our deep admiration and the disdain of the other competitors whom you beat to become the inaugural and possibly last winner of the cleverly named: "Find the Wildlife & Birds Busanga Safaris Great Sunday wildlife photo quiz 2024" and if you are in the UK (sorry rest of the world ) you will win a Busanga Safaris 'Seasoned Traveller ' Bush hat

The Lower Zambezi, with its dappled light and non-stop Leopard sightings, is a mesmerising place, where leopards sometimes multiple generations of Leopards remain in close contact. But this as wild as the African bush can be. Just days later, this cub was killed by what we think may have been one of its mother's previous offspring, the cub's brother.

It’s World Ranger Day!

Every year Musekese Conservation rangers cover over 3,000 kilometres (1,800 miles) while on patrol to monitor and protect threatened iconic wildlife within the Musekese-Lumbeya area of the Kafue National Park.

However, due to the financial impacts of Covid-19, fewer rangers are in the field covering these vast areas.

You can help. Donate $25 and support a one-day patrol for one of our rangers in the musekese-lumbeya. This patrol will provide the critical eyes and ears on the ground that our wildlife needs.

Another fantastic evening walking safari with a great group of guests. Some local and some had travelled to join the walk. All were happy to see and experience a different side of this beautiful place. Highlights Included Brown Hares, encountering a newly fledged Jackdaw, Partridge, Yellow tip Butterflies, Two species of Woodpeckers. Watching carp feed in the shrinking water of their hidden pond. And watching a relaxed herd of Red deer feeding on the flowering Cranesfoot herbs, in a less-visited clearing as shadows of ancient Oaks cast by the setting sun stretched over the grassland. Perfect
