After many years and countless Blowing Rock meals, we finally made it to The Best Cellar for dinner and it did not disappoint! Everything was amazing from start to finish. We also had a first time visit and a fantastic dinner at Moon Thai Sushi and delicious ice cream sandwiches at Blue Deer on Main (although we’re long time fans of the camper on 321). So many great places in town. Trying to hit all of them!

Crab Orchard Falls Trail. Discovered this great new waterfall. Nice trail, about 1.5 mi total out and back. Best thing is it’s only about a mile from Mast General Store. Will be adding it to our best waterfalls list on the web site! Valle Crucis, NC.

Winter fun at App Ski Mtn. Took the kids skiing for the first time. Ski school is awesome- had them on a blue trail in about 45 mins! Only 10 mins from the cabin so we were able to go back and relax for a few hrs before going back for night skiing. So much fun!

A little update on some recent changes at The Blowing Rock Cabin: comfy new Adirondack chairs for the porch, bunk beds in the new 4th bedroom downstairs, repaired the old “tripping stairs” going to the yard, fresh paint on the basement walls, and new AC units arrived just in time! The place is coming together nicely!

Favorite places are open now and doing a good job at social distancing to keep us all safe. Bistro Roca and Six Pence Pub are two restaurants that we love. After dinner head over to Chetola Resort for s’mores around the Bon Fire on Friday and Saturday nights. Kilwins for fudge or ice cream is also a guaranteed winner too!

Big news Alert! A little fog to go with some exciting news. Our little three bedroom cabin now has four bedrooms!! We added a separate laundry room and bedroom in the basement. No separate kitchen so the kids will still have to come upstairs to eat!
