I had a client ask this week about Bulgaria skiing so I thought I would share my advice;

Bulgaria is great for skiing. There are 2 resorts Bansko and Borovets with Borovets being the better one.

Borovets has 2 mountains, there are not too many runs but they are all worth a go. It is average skiing compared to the Alps but good for a long weekend and cheaper.

Borovets is quite dated with pine decorating a lot of the hotels. The food is good and reasonably priced. The nightlife is simple because the resort is so small and everything is very close by.

The impact of global warming means the winters are getting warmer and last Christmas there wasn’t any snow in Borovets. They received the first lot in January. Please bare this in mind when booking.
