Anam Cara Wellness Retreat 2022 💫

6 days of wellness, fun and laughter in October (16th-21st). Our retreat is set in the Spanish countryside, nestled amongst an olive grove and fruit trees 🌳 and it will be held by myself, and (each bringing a little bit of something to the table). 🧘‍♀️

Happy Sunday everyone!

Let's talk Honeymoons. ❤️

We recently planned a honeymoon for a couple whose wedding was coming up pretty quickly, and with the stress of it all, they didn't have time to plan it.

They got in contact with us, and said they didn't even know where they wanted to go.

We started by asking them a few basic questions to figure out their unique requirements for their package:

1) How long did they want their honeymoon to be
2) Did they have a region in mind they would like to visit
3) What was their budget
4) What type of accommodation did they want & what was their non-negotiables (Airbnb, hotel, all-inclusive, breakfast included, ocean/mountain view, hot tub, bath etc)
4) What did they want most from their trip (activities, relaxation, cuisine)
5) What was their ideal environment (what type of weather did they want, did they want to be near rivers/mountains or ocean etc)

We got straight into research mode, and after a huge variety of suggestions and a few days later, we decided on Taormina in Sicily.

Taormina is one of the most beautiful and magical places in the world. This charming town is located on a rocky plateau of Mount Tauro overlooking the Ionian sea and it boasts a rich artistic, gastronomical and cultural heritage with a healthy climate and beautiful natural scenery.

We sent them various lodging options, flight recommendations, and transport arrangements. We also provided them with a detailed itinerary for the best things to see and do in the area!

Out of our suggestions, our clients ended up choosing a Boutique Hotel perched on the hill of Taormina, with Breathtaking View of the Sea and Mount Etna. It had a rooftop pool, a stunning highly regarded restaurant, the most thoughtful staff (and it even had a pillow menu)!

"I have done a fair bit of travelling myself already, but when it came to organising our honeymoon I felt slightly under pressure to make sure it was the unforgettable trip that we were both dreaming of. With wedding preparations taking up so much of our time already, I found trying to find a honeymoon destination quite stressful and not the fun exciting experience it should be.

That's when we reached out to Spark and Flo, and from then everything was much easier and enjoyable. They took both my and my partner's wants for our holiday (which were pretty diverse!) and tailored a honeymoon that incorporated everything we both wanted.

Flo was full of ideas and had so many different suggestions as she got to know us better. She took time with us to help shortlist our options, and in the end, we opted for a 6 night honeymoon break in Sicily- it was truly fantastic. She helped us work out the surrounding area, including organising airport transfers and contacting the hotel on our behalf. It really did take so much of the hassle out of our honeymoon. I'll be back for help on the next trip- this time to ask for tips on ski seasons. A brilliant, friendly service."

Who are Spark & Flow?

We are Chris Sparks & Faoiltiarna (Flo) Keenan, an Aussie and Irish Duo who have been travelling (and working 😅) since we met in Brisbane, 6 years ago.

We've been living on a 36ft sailboat (our floating tiny home!) since December 2021, and we've sailed over 2500 nautical miles around Florida, the Bahamas, Jamaica and Panama. ⛵

We've traveled to over 50 countries between us and have lived in Australia, Canada, Ireland, USA and Zimbabwe (and traveled extensively throughout these countries). We are passionate for immersing ourselves in new cultures, trying local cuisines and our mission is to help others do the same! 🌍

We have a huge range of hobbies and activities that we love to do, and want to ignite the spark for fun into people's lives by offering trip types catered to their desires (from kiteboarding in the Caribbean to yoga retreats in the Mediterranean) 🪂. OR if you would prefer to chill by a serene infinity pool and eat delicious food in a Tuscan villa, we've also got you covered!
