The Souss-Massa National Park is a 33,800 hectare national park on the Atlantic coast of Morocco which was created in 1991. It lies between Agadir to the north and Sidi Ifni to the south and its centre is at 9°40'W 30°5'N. The estuary of the Oued Souss is the northern limit of the park, and that of the Oued Massa is near the southern end. 30,000 ha of land near Aglou, south of the park, is also included in the site because it is sometimes used as a feeding area by the northern bald ibis. The habitat is grazed steppe with dunes, beaches and wetlands. The soil is mainly sandy with some rockier areas.

THE PAINTED ROCKS OF TAFRAOUT BY JEAN VERAME
In 1984, the Belgian artist Jean Verame dressed in blue the rocks in the village of Aguerd Oudad, in the region of Aoussift, eight kilometers from Tafraout. The desert was then famous for its gigantic blocks of granite, traversed by fruit trees such as almond trees, argan trees and fig trees. The panorama is so exceptional that it has been several times film decoration (""The return of the black stallion"") or video clips (""Awa Awa"", sung by Wes, famous singer of Cameroon).

You reach this remarkable tourist site by the road of Tiznit via an alternative route by car or 4x4. Hiking tours and excursions are also organized by tourist guides specialized in the region of Agadir, and travel agencies.

THE PALMERAIE OF AIT MANSOUR
The magnificent palm grove of Ait Mansour unfolds at the bottom of a canyon in which runs a narrow paved road that connects to Tafraout. At the bottom of the gorges in the heart of the palm grove, the landscapes are striking for lovers of photographs, nature and adventure. The site has remained in the wild, preserved from construction, with the exception of a primary school.

If you are passing through Tafraout, do not miss Ait Mansour and the Oued Sidi Mansour canyon. It is accessed by a road with rocky landscapes and steep cliffs, from the village of Tlata Tasrite, which allows to reach this steep plateau where the red and blue rocks intertwine.

Formerly capital of the "kingdom of Tazeroualt", one can visit in Illigh part of the sultan's palace, fortifications and other historical monuments in the Jewish quarter (mellah) as well as the remains of the international market of the time; all places steeped in history.

Le douar d'Illigh est un petit village du sud du Maroc situé à environ 50 Km de Tiznit.
