*HBL powers Abdul Joshi to the summit of Mt K2*

K2, known as the savage mountain, is considered one of the most difficult peaks in the world.

Summiting Mt K2 is a real testament of a mountaineer's strength and skillset.

In 2022, HBL sponsored ace Pakistani Mountaineer Abdul Joshi for his K2 expedition. Unfortunately, due to an illness just before the summit push, Abdul could not utilise the summit window. However, Abdul returned to the mountain this year and summited it successfully. Appreciating the support of Pakistan's premier bank - HBL, Abdul took its flag all the way to the summit

The Shimshal Pass trek is a challenging yet rewarding journey that takes you through some of the most remote and stunning landscapes in the world. Pakistani climbers Abdul Joshi and Saad Munawar successfully reached the top of Mount Aconcagua, the tallest peak in South America and outside Asia. They made it to the summit on February 7, marking a big accomplishment in their climbing journeys.
Abdul Joshi dedicated their climb to the volunteers of Shimshal, especially his three brothers who passed away last month while working on a community road project there.

Joshi, known as the “Path Finder” in the climbing community, is praised for finding new routes. He began his climbing journey as a helper and later climbed his first peak, Manglik Sar, at 18. Besides climbing, Joshi is known for his community service, including leading rescue operations.

Saad Munawar, who has climbed various mountains around the world, also shared his thoughts on their achievement. He's not just a climber but also a writer, having written two books about mountain journeys.

Greetings from Mendoza - Argentina 🇦🇷

The game of long miles ends here.
From here onwards, we look at the altitude more than the distance.

The past few days have been a little tiring but really rewarding, too. We reached Buenos Aires around 9 pm on the 23rd of January. We were supposed to take a flight to Mendoza on the next morning, but unfortunately, our flight got cancelled. We did not want to risk waiting for another flight, so after a 30-hour journey consisting of 4 flights, we went ahead and booked our seats for another long ride. However, due to this apparent misfortune, we got to explore pretty much the entire width of this magnificent country. The distance from Buenos Aires to Mendoza is a little over a thousand kilometres. It took us 15 hours via bus to complete this journey. The views were amazing throughout this journey. Argentina has incredible diversity and beauty!

We reached our hotel here in Mendoza at 7 in the morning. Did not have time to rest as we had to meet our home team of INKA expeditions. After breakfast, we went to the INKA office where Daniela and the team briefed us about all the logistics and routes and other administrative things.

We are all set now!
Tomorrow we leave the city and move towards the mountain itself. Let's see what awaits us..

Climbing to Glory: Pakistan's Quest to Conquer Mt Aconcagua , 2024

Mt Aconcagua and Abdul Joshi's expedition.

Mt Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere and the 10th highest mountain in the world. It is located in Argentina, near the border with Chile. It is also one of the Seven Summits, the highest mountains on each continent.Abdul Joshi and his climbing partner, Saad Munawar, are currently on a mission to climb Mt Aconcagua. Abdul_JoshiAbdul Joshi is a Pakistani mountaineer who is known as the "Path Finder" for his talent of finding new, unclimbed routes. He is also the first person in the world to cross F.N./Joshi Pass and Verjerav Pass. He became the first Pakistani to summit Annapurna, the most dangerous 8,000-meter peak, in 2021. He also summited Mount Everest in 2022.
