We had some visitors yesterday in Clacton to check out the accessibility of the bungalow. And to be assessed on the bed.

One in a manual chair and one in a power chair. It passed with flying colours 😄😇😍

R CARE FORTNIGHT.

A chance to appreciate foster carers and our foster children.

Being a foster carer for 15 years enabling the young people we support to flourish and become confident adults is our mission.

Looking after children with disabilities has been our specialty and they are the reason we started Elevated Holiday Homes to enable families like ours to be able to experience a holiday in an accessible property.

We received this plaque when one of our foster children grew up and left to start his adult life.

Checking out the accessibility of for our future guests in our wheelchair accessible holiday bungalow in Weymouth.
A lovely day out to see the swans. The paths were flat but hard gravel. Would be fine on a mobility scooter or electric wheelchair. You are allowed to drive your mobility vehicle near the swannery. All on all definitely worth a visit and some wonderful views of the lagoon and beautiful Dorset countryside.

Hilda’s Retreat is a newly renovated 2-bedroom bungalow with a level interior, both bedrooms ARE fully wheelchair accessible one with a profiling bed, ceiling hoist and en-suite wet-room, the other with twin beds. In the well-equipped lounge there is a sofa bed, a riser/recliner chair, and a dining table and chairs, and large flat-screen TV. Strong Wi-Fi throughout. The bungalow has a fully fitted modern well-equipped kitchen. A highchair is available. There are wide doorways throughout. There is a separate WC. The level access to the bungalow is via a ramp accessed directly from the private parking area.
