We’ve kicked off our special celebration of the 30th anniversary of “The Lion King” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. From now until Sept. 6, fans of the original animated film can enjoy character greetings, themed food and drinks, unique merchandise items and other special “only at Disney” surprises.

During “The Lion King” 30th anniversary celebration at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can meet favorite characters Timon and Rafiki at Conservation Station at Rafiki's Planet Watch. Guests can take the train to Conservation Station by entering near the exit of Kilimanjaro Safaris in the park and the My Disney Experience app has details on when both characters are available this summer.

At Conservation Station, guests can also learn to draw other favorite characters from “The Lion King” at Animation Experience.

The Psycho house was one of the big draws of the Universal Tram Tour back in 1964, and continues to be the subject of much interest even now.
Over the years the house has been through a number of alterations and has even completely moved location twice after construction.
The Psycho house was built from a number of Universal’s stock units to save money. The front of the house and the distinctive tower was the same as that used in the “Harvey” house on Colonial Street.
Originally it consisted of just the left wall and the front of the house. In 1963 (photos below), the other side wall was added, and then in 1983, the rear of the house was added.
The house set has been moved three times since it was originally built.

Back To The Future fans will love an Easter egg coming to Universal Epic Universe. The back of each coaster vehicle on Starfall Racers is going to feature a nod to, presumably, the DeLorean. This attraction is a racing dual-launch coaster that goes at 62 mph and reaches a max height of 133 feet.

🚨 Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Update 🚨
At Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom we spotted the flume after the drop filled with water! This is the first time the new attraction has been seen filled with water!
This is a sign that construction is moving along and we love seeing all the progress that has been made so far.

Universal Mardi Gras Concert Schedule Update!!

King was originally scheduled to perform on February 17. Barrett is now listed on the Mardi Gras schedule.

King, 34, has canceled and rescheduled several upcoming performances after an incident during the Dolly Parton birthday tribute concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. While onstage, King admitted to being “hammered,” forgot song lyrics, and argued with audience members. (via People)

NEW UPDATES on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! 👑🚨
A new article just confirmed all kinds of 💥cool insider info💥 about the revamped Splash Mountain ride in Disney World and Disneyland!

💦 There will be Splash Mountain easter eggs and nods to the predecessor throughout the ride.

💎 Animatronics will be STATE-OF-THE-ART. You’ll see lots of “Tianas” in the ride, and she’ll be speaking directly with the audience! The best part? She won’t have that weird projected face that you see in EPCOT’s Frozen Ever After. These Tianas will be of the Hong Kong Frozen Ever After variety — super advanced and not at all creepy. 😅

🎷 We know the music will be an important element for this ride. But that immersion will come even earlier now! Speakers outside the “barn” in the queue line will broadcast old-timey radio recordings of local artists.

🪵 The boarding area of the ride will be very similar to Splash Mountain. Currently there are a couple of cranes there lifting Tiana’s Foods crates.

🎢 And the track of the ride is the same as the Splash Mountain track, so the ride will be the same length and have the same drops as Splash did.

🌳 What WILL be very different looks-wise will be the vegetation. Once you load your log, you’re clearly not at Chickapin Hill anymore. You’re in New Orleans. And they won’t let you forget it! The vegetation has changed completely, and the vibe will be new.

This newly revamped ride is scheduled to open in 2024.
