Day trip with Cheryl & Adele from the USA! 🇺🇸 We took them through the scenic Ribatejo route known for 🐂 bullfighters, 🍇 vineyards, 🏰 medieval castles, 🌾 beautiful plains, corn fields, olive groves & cork oak forests 🌳

We visited some important sites like Portas do Sol Viewpoint 🌄 Mira de Aire Caves & Mountains⛰️ Almourol Castle 🏰 Castelo de Bode Dam 🌊 Convent of Christ Castle ⚔️ and Fatima Sanctuary ⛪

We indulged in some local delights for breakfast, including Rice Cake 🧁 Pampilho Pastry 🥐 and a local 🥧 Santarém Sweet Pie. For lunch, we shared a few traditional dishes, like the 🍖 Iberian Black Pork Secretos 🍷 Red Wine & Garlic Marinated Pork 🧄 Codfish with Cornbread Crust 🍞 Grilled Cuttlefish 🦑 and Migas 🥬 (a delicious side of Cornbread w/ Beans & Cabbage).�
There was also plenty of wine along the way, or it wouldn’t really be a GoJoe Experience. Cheryl & Adele tried: 🌿 Soalheiro ALLO Green, from Minho (Alvarinho & Loureiro grapes) 🌸 Mateus Rosé, from Bairrada (Baga & Touriga Nacional grapes) 🥂 Monte dos Perdigões White, from Alentejo (Antão Vaz, Arinto, Roupeiro). ��They also sipped on our traditional liqueurs 🥃 Bitter Almond, Beirão, and Vigario Secret — yes, that last one with the ph***ic cups you’re curious about (a typical liqueur from Tomar, known as ‘Mouchão’) served at our local Taverna da Talha.

Medieval history, stunning landscapes, and delicious treats - Ribatejo has it all! 💛 Thank you for joining us Cheryl & Adele, it was a pleasure to share culture and laughs ✨
