Farmhouse Brewing co. stands out as Chilliwack's sole farm-based brewery, situated on an 11.5-acre farm in Greendale. Founded by a family experienced in small-scale farming, the brewery grows its own barley and hops, a rarity among farm-based breweries in British Columbia due to land requirements. Farmhouse offers guests a welcoming tasting room, heated patio and outdoor picnic areas. It caters to families with amenities like a children's playground and a professional mini-golf course for those 16+, making it a destination for both beer enthusiasts and families seeking a day out in the Valley.

The 18+ tap beer lineup combines staple core offerings with seasonal varieties. The tasting room complements these brews with artisan-style food pairings from the kitchen featuring a large Forno Bravo oven, offering everything from savoury appetizers to indulgent desserts like beer-infused s'mores.

Are you looking for a last-minute Father's Day gift? Endless Adventure SUP Sturgeon Search invites you to a one-of-a-kind experience on the Columbia River 🐟☀️

Recently, Tamara Vidito witnessed these prehistoric fish while on a road trip to Castlegar. After an expert instructor took her through the paddleboarding basics and taught the group how to navigate their boards with ease, they began their float downstream. Springtime brings these incredible creatures to the surface as they snack and sunbathe, and thanks to the crystal-clear waters, you'll get up-close views right from your paddleboard!

After your time on the water, head over to nearby Tailout Brewing for a drink. There is nothing quite like a refreshing pint after a day on the water!

As the season is coming to a close, there are only two Saturday opportunities left to take advantage of this tour. Book here ⬇️

Explore the epic mountain biking and craft beer communities of Kamloops and Williams Lake 🚵🍻🙌

Either town could hold the title ‘Birthplace of Freeride’, with deep roots in pioneering this extreme side of mountain biking since the 80s and 90s. Both have matured and expanded their mountain bike offerings to include beginner and adaptive-friendly trails. On the beer side, visitors and locals alike will be awed by the diversity and depth of the craft beer scene, featuring 5 unique breweries serving up anything from traditional lagers, 10%+ Belgian Triples, and IPAs so hazy you can stand a fork up in them.

Both towns’ trail networks have evolved from their gnarly beginnings, offering something for every rider no matter their skill level. While Williams Lake focused on steep, loose natural chutes and terrain features, Kamloops built inconceivably big jumps. Infrastructure for beginner and adaptive riders is being developed in both locations to make the sport more inclusive, but if you still want to surf down steep sand chutes or hit massive jumps, those are still there too.

Spinnakers Brewpub, Canada's oldest brew pub reached this incredible milestone on May 15th. Says owner Paul Hadfield: "Given the opportunity, what I particularly wanted to do was change the nature of what the pub was, to go along with the notion of a changed beer environment, a changed beer product, changed beer culture.” And they have certainly made their mark on the Victoria beer scene, and beyond.

Our Story

In partnership with Destination British Columbia and the BC Craft Brewers Guild, the BC Ale Trail emphasizes how a visit to or around British Columbia is enhanced with a pint of craft beer culture. With an increasing preference for local craft beer in BC and the growth of artisanal beer in North America, the BC Ale trail embraces the “buy local” movement, helps showcase independent breweries, and connects visitors with the unique culture at the heart of communities all over the province.

The BC Ale Trail provides visitors and British Columbians the opportunity to explore BC’s rich “beer-centric” culture through the BC breweries, and information on the experience and ambience each individual brewery brings to the craft beer industry. The BC Ale Trail’s team of dedicated beer lovers including consultants, social media magicians, writers, project managers, directors and craft beer innovators has worked passionately to showcase BC’s world-class brewing scene through developing comprehensive itineraries that link breweries throughout BC.
