Explore the epic mountain biking and craft beer communities of Kamloops and Williams Lake 🚵🍻🙌
Either town could hold the title ‘Birthplace of Freeride’, with deep roots in pioneering this extreme side of mountain biking since the 80s and 90s. Both have matured and expanded their mountain bike offerings to include beginner and adaptive-friendly trails. On the beer side, visitors and locals alike will be awed by the diversity and depth of the craft beer scene, featuring 5 unique breweries serving up anything from traditional lagers, 10%+ Belgian Triples, and IPAs so hazy you can stand a fork up in them.
Both towns’ trail networks have evolved from their gnarly beginnings, offering something for every rider no matter their skill level. While Williams Lake focused on steep, loose natural chutes and terrain features, Kamloops built inconceivably big jumps. Infrastructure for beginner and adaptive riders is being developed in both locations to make the sport more inclusive, but if you still want to surf down steep sand chutes or hit massive jumps, those are still there too.

TBT to last weekend’s @northislandcraftbeerfest in Campbell River🍻
We had a blast at the BC Ale Trail booth pouring beer from @greyfoxbrewing @campbeerco @strangefellowsbrewing @barnsidebrewing. Festival goers enjoyed 25+ craft beers from around BC.
🤍 Full proceeds go to the Campbell River Community Foundation, a non-profit that provides numerous grants to various community groups each year.
You can’t sleep on this one — the festival sells out every year. In fact, this year it sold out in less than an hour. We’ll be back!

Fraser Valley Ale Trail
Tucked between the Coast and Cascade mountain ranges, the Fraser Valley Ale Trail offers a mix of relaxing countryside, urban culture, rugged backcountry beauty and farm-fresh craft beer.
The tradition of farming is celebrated perfectly at Farmhouse Brewing co. in 📍Chilliwack. Here you truly taste the terroir of the beer since the farm uses barley and hops they grow and harvest themselves. Old Yale Brewing‘s popular location is tucked away in the verdant and fertile farmland of the Chilliwack River Valley, while those seeking more of an urban experience can check out Bricklayer Brewing and Field House Brewing Co. CHWK, which recently joined Flashback Brewing Company in downtown Chilliwack. The newest brewery on the scene is Sidekick Brewing, a riverfront brewery nestled below the beautiful Cheam Mountains.
📍Abbotsford, the largest city in the Valley, is home to Ravens Brewing Company, an award-winning Indigenous-owned brewery, as well as the original Field House Brewing Co. ABBY, which also celebrates the local agricultural bounty both through its beers and its popular Canteen Kitchen. Canuck Empire Brewing is the latest addition, a nano brewery in Abbotsford’s U-District.
Check out Mountainview Brewing Co. in 📍Hope. Lying at the eastern edge of the Fraser Valley, Hope is a hub of highways that come and go from everywhere.

The Langley Ale Trail
✴️ NEW Langley Ale Trail ✴️ Langley has always rewarded bold adventurers... Rich in history, urban experiences and fresh craft beer.
Langley’s burgeoning craft beer community started more than 20 years ago when Dead Frog Brewery opened in Aldergrove. Flash forward to 2016 when Trading Post Brewing became the first brewery to open within Langley itself. Since then, several more breweries have joined this scene, including Camp Beer Co., Farm Country Brewing, and Five Roads Brewing Co. Nearby is Kwantlen Polytechnic University, home to KPU Brewing and Brewery Operations, BC’s only Brewing Diploma, a two-year program that has trained hundreds of future brewers. The KPU Beer Lab has won many awards and is open to the public for beer sales on Friday afternoons. Langley has another craft beer scene easily accessible off the Trans-Canada Highway, with Dead Frog Brewing’s new location, Smugglers' Trail Caskworks Ltd. and The Barley Merchant. Langley’s newest brewery is Brookswood Brewing Co., already a hub for the neighbourhood it is named after. Based on a 96-acre farm owned and operated by one family for generations, Locality Brewing offers the unique opportunity to taste beer brewed with ingredients grown and processed on-site. And be sure to stock up on your favourites at Angry Otter Liquor on 248th 🍻
