🐝Did You Know?! 🐝

Worker bees have different jobs according to their age!

🐝 1-2 days old: clean the cells, starting with the one they were born in. They also keep the brood warm.
🐝 3-5 days old: their job is to feed the older larvae.
🐝 6-11 days old: they have the responsibility to feed the youngest larvae.
🐝 12-17 days old: they are producing wax, carrying food, building combs and have undertaker duties.
🐝 18-21 days old: they are protecting the hive entrance and have guard duty.
🐝 From 22 days to the end of their life (40-45 days): they fly from the hive to collect pollen, nectar, water etc.

It makes sense why you often hear the phrase ‘Busy bee’! 🐝

Putting the feelers out.. please share … WANTED’ - Summer job opportunity at ‘Cuckoo Farm’ . An amazing opportunity for the right person to join our team . Work and learn in the tranquil friendly environment.. work with a range of animals such as Alpaca’s, horses, sheep and honey bees . Full or part time . With flexible hours.. No Experience necessary. However experience in any of the following would be welcomed . Equestrian, animal care, bee keeping, machinery operation, painting, fencing, gardening and general farm work. Task will be depending on age, experience, confidence etc .
Additional to the above tasks may include, internal/external painting, ground care and ground maintenance, animal feeding, grooming, mucking out, tractor driving grass cutting, some cleaning and holiday let preparation if required etc .. must have own means of transport, willing to do a bit of everything. Most importantly must be self driven, easy going and have a sense of humour..
