A brief throwback to this time last summer. 🖤 Now that so many big, obvious improvements are out of the way, it’s hard to see continual progress. Managing a project like this in a remote part of the mountains when your other home is 10 hours away, weather and rodents are your enemies, the pace of everything is super slowwwww, supplies cost a billion dollars, and it’s nearly impossible to find good help…… it’s just HARD. (Sorry for the long sentence there). So - would we do this again? NO. ZERO ⭐️S do not recommend. But we love it anyway.

It’s terrifying to imagine this precious place swallowed up by flames, and I hope that nightmare never comes true. Our thoughts are with the residents and business owners of Ruidoso, and with the generous people all over NM and TX who are opening their homes, hotels, land, campgrounds, cots, showers, and restaurants to evacuees. We are reminded of 2 things - nature will do what it wants, and, people are amazing.
