Day 5 (Part 2)
Sadly it is our last day in Kruger. We took our time exploring the gravel roads between Skukuza and Malelane Gate. For the second day in a row we were lucky and saw another lion hunt. We also saw rhino’s and young giraffes fighting for dominance.
The beautiful Mjejane Private Game Reserve that is part of the Greater Kruger and a private access road into the Park was our next stop. We stayed in a private house with a boma and swimming pool. The swimming pool is fenced off but provides a scenic view into the Kruger. Whilst enjoying the cool waters we had visits from elephants, warthogs and a variety of birds.
Dinner was a Polish affair as Artur and Ola had to make a typical Polish BBQ. The side dishes were something different - fire grilled aubergine with blue cheese and gem squash circles. Yummy!! Even Brian (our Safety Officer-yes we travel with a trained security and safety officer to ensure that our guests are always safe and protected) is not a veggie man but dug into the sides.
To our surprise we counted the animals marked in Natalia’s activity book. I am sure it must be a record. We marked off 126 species (animals and birds) in our day and a half in Kruger.
