UP MEMORY LANE
With the weekend that's in it, it was a pleasure to take a trip back in time by revisiting a sacred place I was regularly brought to as a child on annual trips to Cork. Corrin Hill outside Fermoy is a rather famous location in Irish mythology and is also the area where a high cross was erected to mark the Marian year of 1933 that also has a steep climb with 14 stations of the cross on the path up to the top where there are magnificent views of the rebel county.

Well worth a visit if you are passing by. Happy Easter to you all.

SLANE WHISKEY ROCKS AND ROLLS
I was delighted to have the opportunity for a tour and tasting in Slane Whiskey Distillery in the Boyne Valley to learn more about how our famous whiskey is produced. A big thank you to manager Claire and superb tour-guide Aoife who really showcased what has to be one of our best new Irish tourism attractions, which I believe is world class. I hope to send plenty of my guests in this direction from now on...Slainte

ENTER THE DRAGON
I was delighted this week to be invited by Zatino Travel to The Shelbourne Hotel for the cultural and tourism promotion day for the Chinese visitor market in Ireland, a big thank you to Jing Farrelly, Tourism Ireland, the Chinese Embassy, Beijing representatives and of course, The Shelbourne Hotel for a wonderful and informative day. I'm really looking forward to working with this new market for my tours and I'm sure I will have them singing Molly Malone on my singing tour as good as the rest of our visitors to Dublin...☘️

Our First Lady of Dublin has had to put up with some vandalism of late, but you cannot keep a good women down and our Molly has bounced back looking as brazen and beautiful as ever and my group of visitors from Atlanta this week thought she looked just swell in all her glory...

DUBLIN'S FAIR CITY HALL
It was a privilege to be asked to perform at our spectacular City Hall in Dublin for our Irish Culture Night 2023 last Friday. I only had half an hour on the busy bill to sing a few of our traditional songs and the acoustics were truly amazing. The crowd enjoyed learning about the historical background to these songs, thanks to Denise and Aoife for all their help on the day

I do like a classical Georgian building especially the sweeping staircases which always guarantee a grand entrance, so on my walking tours I am always happy to bring my guests to The Powerscourt Townhouse on South William Street where visitors can also avail of some shopping for momentos of their holiday

I use all of my 30 odd years in amateur dramatics as part of my living history tour performances, but sometimes I like to see how others are doing theirs and they don't come better than Navan Theatre Group producing 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore' from the magnificent Martin McDonagh, well done to cast and crew at the beautiful Solstice Theatre in Navan for a great night...
