Today, my 18 year old son, husband, and I went to Playa del Carmen. We took a taxi from our hotel 25 minutes into town around 12:30pm. We ate local food. We drank local drinks. We shopped local shops. We talked and walked with “strangers”. We made it back to the resort around 4pm. This post is to remind you that Mexico IS safe, my friends. As with anywhere one can travel, it’s about making smart decisions. Its about being aware of your surroundings when you’re in a new place. It’s about embracing the culture and all the wonderful people without fear, but with responsibility.

Monkey land with is an absolute joy to experience! Everyone was full of smiles and happy squeals as these little 2 lb fluffy fellas came to say hi to us all. 10 out of 10 would absolutely recommend for the kid with us and the kid within us all!

Following a federal judge's overturn of the most recent CDC Mask Mandate extension, which had masks mandated until May 3 >> MAJOR AIRLINES HAVE DROPPED THE REQUIREMENT TO WEAR A MASK ON AIRPLANES! TSA will also stop enforcing masks on "public transport (aircrafts/trains/etc.) and transportation hubs (airports/train stations/etc) while the ruling is reviewed". The overturn allows all travelers to "make the best decision to support their personal wellbeing" (quote from Southwest Airlines).

As always with travel these days, this current situation is subject to change at any given time without notice and can be dependent upon travelers specific state guidelines. Please be kind and respectful to your fellow travelers as we all make the personal CHOICE of what is best for each of us.
