แพลงก์ตอนเรืองแสงคือปรากฏการณ์สุดว้าวที่ธรรมชาติสร้างขึ้น เกิดจากจุลชีพเล็ก ๆ ในน้ำทะเล เช่น แพลงก์ตอนพืชหรือสัตว์ ที่ปล่อยแสงวิบวับออกมาเวลาถูกกระตุ้น ไม่ว่าจะจากการเคลื่อนไหวของน้ำหรือการสัมผัสเบา ๆ แสงที่เห็นมักจะเป็นสีฟ้าหรือสีเขียว เกิดจากสารเคมีในตัวแพลงก์ตอนเอง แถมยิ่งมืดก็ยิ่งเห็นชัด บอกเลยว่าต้องไปเห็นด้วยตาตัวเอง!
