I started a facebook group called Support Downtown Augusta in February of 2007 right after opening my shop Vintage 965 downtown. I wanted to build a group of followers that were passionate about supporting the downtown community and keep them updated on events going on. My hope was that not only would it encourage them to continue their patronage of downtown businesses and attendance of downtown e

vents, but that they would invite others to come along. I am now a stay at home mom of 3 littles and don't get out as much so if you know of a cool event coming up please let me know.

TODAY is the 5th Annual Support Downtown Augusta Trick or Treat on Broad Street! Dress up in your best Halloween costume and trick or treat from business to business between 9th-12th Street. Participating businesses will be passing out candy to trick-or-treaters ages 12 and under! Stay for dinner or drinks downtown to make a night of it!

This is a free event for the public but trick or treating is for children 12 and under. Event will start at 5PM and go until 7PM. Please use caution as there are some broken parts in the sidewalk and fallen trees from the storm damage.

Joes Underground located at 144 8th St is a hidden treasure in downtown Augusta! This underground dive bar offer delicious food and drinks as well as live music. If you haven’t been before go check it out!

Laziza’s mission is to bring fresh and flavorful Mediterranean cuisine to the Augusta community in a friendly, clean, and relaxing environment that turns a guest into a loyal fan. They combine authentic flavors from Lebanon with family recipes that have been developed from generation to generation. They are devoted to bringing fresh, high-quality, flavorful food to everyone! If you haven’t tried Laziza yet go soon, you will not be disappointed. We recommend the spicy chicken shawarma with extra garlic sauce but everything is seriously delicious!

Modjeska is an entertainment venue located at 813 Broad Street that combines historic charm with a lively nightlife atmosphere. Originally built in 1916 by Roswell O. Lombard, the father-in-law of baseball legend Ty Cobb, the theater was named after the renowned Polish-American Shakespearean actress Helena Modjeska. is a unique entertainment venue.

Grantski Records is an independent record store in Downtown Augusta that specializes in new and used vinyl records. They also carry CDs and cassettes as well as turntables, speakers and assorted audio equipment. If you haven’t checked out this awesome spot yet stop by and flip through their bins soon - you are sure to find somethng you will love.
