There are various paths from the villa gate through the olive groves, only 10 minutes or more, depending which way you go and how many things you stop to look at along the away! The flamingos are there most of the year, this time they were on the other side of the lake but you can still hear them from our side! Halikounas is a beautiful long sandy beach, stretching 3km and is directly opposite the villa on the other side of Lake with sand dunes in between and warm shallow water. You can walk or drive the whole way down with the beach on one side and the lake on the other and either find your own private spot or hire sunbeds and umbrellas at the lovely Tayo beach bar. There's also a kite surfing school if you'd like to try your hand at some water sports.
