Visit Santa in a mystical wonderland at the Bridewell 🎅

Step inside his enchanted grotto where you can make magical reindeer food, and write and post your letter to Santa before meeting the man himself to receive a treat.

🟢 The Grotto will be open Friday evenings and Saturdays from 25 November – 17 December.

Colin Neill, Hospitality Ulster Chief Executive, will be there in person to chat with businesses about all of the latest news and developments in the NI hospitality industry, including an update on the review of licensing and surrender principle.

The Burnavon Winter Craft & Food Fair is back on Saturday 25th November 2023 (10am - 5pm). Free Admission.

James Kane is a local historian, and current Chair of the O'Neill Country Historical Society.

‘Awaken the Darkness’ under the darkest of skies at OM Dark Sky Park and Observatory in Davagh Forest.

Before Halloween there was Samhain, an ancient Celtic tradition that marked the beginning of winter and a time of year that was ruled by the moon. It's also a time when the veil between life and death is believed to be at its thinnest – allowing spirits to roam freely between two worlds.

We'll take you on a walk along the river, through the forest to the ancient Davagh stones and Giants Grave. Along the way you'll hear stories of ancient cultures, myths and Samhain traditions before returning to the Observatory. Once inside you'll learn about Samhain's astronomical connections, and weather permitting – observe ghostly nebulae and chilling constellations before taking a seat outside for our special Samhain themed outdoor film!

Part of this event is outdoor so please dress appropriately for the walk to Davagh Stones. Light buffet included. Please book early.

Our Great Days Out Fair was a huge success yesterday. We were delighted to welcome local tourism & hospitality businesses from Mid Ulster to showcase their fantastic offers.

Many thanks to the businesses for taking the time and attending, to South West College and their students & staff that attended and all the public that visited too. We were also lucky enough to welcome Jess from Tourism Northern Ireland & Discover Northern Ireland as well.

The Glenavon Cookstown was a great location.

The Hidden Heritage tour - 'Maghera Past and Present' took place on Saturday 30 September, starting at Maghera Heritage Centre with James Armour and Seamus Donnelly.
The tour group enjoyed a brief presentation on the history of the centre, followed by a tour and some time exploring the exhibition area which included scaled models of significant historic monuments surrounding Maghera.
The tour group was then led on a walking tour of Maghera by Aimee Kielt which included, St. Lurach’s Church and graveyard, Maghera Walled Garden, Maghera Courthouse and a number of informational plaques located across the town.
Having walked up an appetite the group enjoyed a light lunch in Walsh’s Hotel to complete the afternoon.
