Mountain gorillas were first discovered in 1902 on the ridges of the volcanic Virunga mountains by German explorer Captain Robert von Beringe. The mountain gorilla was then named Gorilla beringei beringei in honor of the Captain.

Today we received a donation of four infrared thermometers from Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) to support our efforts in Containing in Bwindi Mgahinga Conservation Area. The items were handed over to our Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Robert Aruho by the CTPH Chief Executive Officer Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka at CTPH offices in Entebbe.
We are grateful for the support.
