~ * Bumdra Trek Bhutan *~🇧🇹

The Bumdra trek in Bhutan is a beautiful and challenging trek that offers stunning views of the Himalayas and a visit to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest).

Day 1: Arrival in Paro

Arrival at Paro- Check-in to your hotel
Visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) and Paro Rinpung Dzong.
Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 2: Trek to Bumdra Monastery

Breakfast, then visit Sang Choekor Buddhist College.
Trek uphill for 2 hours to Chhoetse Monastery.
Lunch at the campsite.
Continue trekking towards Bumdra Monastery.
Spectacular views of Paro and Do Chhu valleys.
Visit the monastery and nearby peak.
Dinner and overnight camping.

Day 3: Bumdra Monastery to Paro via Taktsang Monastery

Trek to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest).
Reach Taktsang and explore the monastery.
Lunch, then visit Drukgyal fortress and Kyichu Lhakhang.
Return to Paro for the night.

Day 4: Thimphu Sightseeing

Drive to Thimphu (capital).
Visit National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Point, and more.
Explore cultural sites, museums, and monasteries.
Stroll in Thimphu city and shop for souvenirs.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 5: Thimphu to Punakha

Drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass.

Dinner and overnight stay in Punakha
Day 6: Punakha to Thimphu

Hike to Khamsum Yulley Monastery in Yabesa village.
Drive back to Thimphu.

Day 7: Thimphu to Paro (Departure)

Breakfast at the hotel.
Drive to Paro International Airport for departure.

Day 1: Paro to Jele Dzong

Start from Paro and trek to Jele Dzong.
Distance: Approximately 7 km, 4-5 hours.

Day 2: Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha

Trek through rhododendron forests and reach Jangchulakha.
Distance: Approximately 10 km, 4-5 hours.

Day 3: Jangchulakha to Jimilangtso

Trek through more rhododendron forests and meadows to reach Jimilangtso Lake.
Distance: Approximately 11 km, 5-6 hours.

Day 4: Jimilangtso to Simkotra Tsho

Trek over ridges and through valleys to reach Simkotra Tsho.

A fascinating fun fact about the Taktsang Monastery in Bhutan is that it is also known as the "Tiger's Nest." The monastery is perched precariously on the edge of a cliff, approximately 900 meters above the Paro Valley. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, flew to this location on the back of a tigress, meditating in a cave for three years, three months, three weeks, three days, and three hours. Due to this legend, the monastery is named "Tiger's Nest" and has become one of Bhutan's most iconic and revered pilgrimage sites. It's an awe-inspiring sight and a must-visit destination for travelers in Bhutan.
