While the 9 Lakes are great reasons to visit the region, we also have 5 National Park sites to explore! These offer a great mix of nature and history along with places to relax and unwind.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the largest NPS site in the region and the most visited in the country. But don't worry, there are plenty of places to avoid the crowds like the Cosby Access area and Greenbrier. There's also bicycle only times to enjoy the splendor of Cades Cove.

The Manhattan Project National Historic Park in Oak Ridge is a unique collection of sites that help tell the story of the role the "Secret City" played in the development of the atomic bomb.

Cumberland Gap National Historic Park lies along the East Tennessee Crossing Byway: Tennessee's Wilderness Road . The pass through the Cumberland Mountains led thousands of people into America's Western Frontier.

Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area features places like the Gentlemen's Swimming Hole near Historic Rugby as well as natural bridges, waterfalls, and a stunning river gorge.

Obed Wild and Scenic River showcases a deep river gorge, is a haven for rock climbers and river sports.
