Last month, I tried out the new Lightning Lane system at Walt Disney World, and I wasn’t a fan at all. However, it was the day after the system was launched.
This week, I visited Magic Kingdom and gave the system another try, and it was a completely different experience. Three days before my visit, I was able to book three rides (one from Tier One and two from Tier Two), as well as purchase a Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Initially, the ride times I booked were for later in the afternoon, but I was able to modify them, with the first ride starting at 10 AM. After checking into the first ride, I was able to book my next ride, and there was plenty of availability and flexible time options and stayed this way throughout the day.
I will note that Magic Kingdom wasn’t as busy as usual, which might have made it easier to secure ride times. However, this definitely improved my opinion of the new Lightning Lane system

My Thoughts on the New Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass
I tried the new Lightning Lane system the day after it launched, so I was prepared for some hiccups. My trip was from 7/25 to 7/27, and here’s how it went.
Day 1: Magic Kingdom (7/25)
Since the new system went live the day before, I was able to select three rides: one from Tier 1 and two from Tier 2. I booked:
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 12:45 PM
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 1:45 PM
Haunted Mansion at 5:05 PM
Additionally, I purchased a Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at 7:00 PM.
Morning:
I had nothing scheduled for the morning and couldn't book another ride until after scanning into Buzz at 12:45 PM. I spent my morning trying to modify my times to earlier slots but had no luck. My only options were to find rides with low wait times or watch shows to pass the time, which was frustrating.
Afternoon:
After scanning into Buzz, getting another ride with a decent return time was almost impossible. We ended up leaving the park after Haunted Mansion and managed to get a refund for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, as we rode it earlier using the standby line.
Weather:
The day was extremely hot, and the standby wait times were not terrible, making it strange that I couldn't change any of the rides to earlier times.
Day 2: Hollywood Studios (7/26)
I had booked rides on the 24th for my whole stay. Initially, my plan was to go to EPCOT in the AM, but all the popular rides there are Tier 1, which are the ones we wanted. I was hesitant to buy the Multi Pass fearing Tier 1 rides would sell out.
Hollywood Studios Bookings:
Alien Swirling Saucers at 1:40 PM
Mickey’s Runaway Railway at 2:40 PM
Tower of Terror at 8:10 PM
I managed to modify these times the day before and the morning of, securing times in the morning. My plan was to get Slinky Dog Dash and rope drop Tower of Terror. However, Slinky Dog was already sold out for the 26th on the 24th. I frequently checked the app, and twice Slinky Dog became available, but it was gone by the time I tried to grab it.
Early Entry:
We aimed to rope drop Slinky Dog, but it wasn’t running during early entry. By the time it started, the line was long. However, with early entry we were able to ride Alien Swirling Saucers twice, before my 9AM return time and was able to walk on Toy Story Mania.
Overall Experience:
While my experience with the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass wasn’t great, others reported having no issues and that it worked well for them. I plan to try the system again next month when I visit all four parks, hoping for better luck.

One of my goals for this trip was to check out one of the most talked about Character Dining Experience,📖 Story Book Dining at Artist Point. (See pictures)
At this character meal you have the pleasure of dining in the 🌳 Enchanted Forest and have the opportunity to meet Snow White and two of her Severn dwarfs, D***y and Grumpy. You will also receive an invitation to meet The Queen 👸🏻
The meal starts out with all three of the shared appetizers . If you have children with you they get their own small platter of some fruit, veggies, a small bun and cheese.
Adults then get to pick an entree from seven different options. I selected A Stroll through Nature minus the leeks (see picture). It was cheesy, creamy and just delicious. I did also get a drink called Enchanted Apple 🍎. Children have the typical menu options but do get two sides with their entree. My son opted for chicken tenders, Mac and Cheese and fries. He wasn’t a huge fan of the Mac and Cheese.
After we received our entree we met Grumpy, D***y and Snow White. Each interaction was unique and exciting and they were more then happy to sign autograph books and take photos.
The best part for me is of course the desserts!! I have a major sweet tooth 🧁🍎. Like the appetizers you get all three shared desserts. They were all sweet (not too sweet) and decadent. My favorite was the Fairytale Goosberry Tart.
At the end of the meal we were given an invitation to meet The Queen and as well as two dark chocolate hearts in a special box.
We finished the chocolate and then made our way to The Queen. The interaction with her was by far the best interaction my son had. She talked to him whole time made him laugh and played the part so well (see video)! The Queen is now a new favorite with my son.
All in all my experience at Story Book Dining at Artist Point was 10/10 and would definitely be dining there again.

Walt Disney Worlds new Lightning Lane System started today. I was able to book three rides for tomorrow and Friday and was able to purchase a Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
