¡Samaritana es una celebración única! Este viernes 25 de marzo nuestras tradiciones conmemoran este pasaje bíblico que hace alusión al encuentro de Jesús con la Samaritana. Disfruta de manera responsable al llegar con tu vaso. Aguas tradicionales de chilacayota, horchata y limón rallado con chía, a las 12:00 horas en el templo de la Preciosa Sangre de Cristo. Recuerda, sin vaso no hay Samaritana.

Todos Santos is here, and we're getting ready with the final details for our Altar set up, dinner, and mezcal tasting 😉

The bread will be from Mitla that in Nahuatl means "city of deads" but in Zapotec was called Lyobáa or "resting place". Hot chocolate will be part of the dinner too.

Día de Mu**tos or also called Todos Santos is around the corner. This is one of my favorite traditions but also one I'm getting back.
50+ years ago when my family got evangelized they lost most of our Zapotec traditions, however, I decided to rescue it and make it part of my family again.
I'm happy to share all I've learned in this new journey, and I'm also open to keeping learning.

Last year, .cook and I were planning to organize an event for Día de Mu**tos to share our respective traditions and cultural backgrounds. The situation was harsher so we decided to make a video instead and don't put anyone's health at risk at that time.

Nowadays things are more manageable and want to invite you to our Altar setup experience to make tamales, and drink hot chocolate and mezcal.

Happy Monday and Happy Summer ☀️

So happy to know summer means more visitors coming to Oaxaca, but I would like to remember you to follow our rules:

- facemask still MANDATORY in public spaces

- due to covid restrictions some museums, churches, and the botanical garden still closed, some other museums ask you to book in advance or will have special hours for visiting

- In most places, people will offer you hand sanitizer, will take your temperature, and ask you to clean your shoes before entering into markets, shops, museums, etc.

Remember that you are visiting our home, so be respectful of our rules and protocols. Even if you're fully vaccinated doesn't mean you don't have to follow them.

It has been a rainy week for us here in Oaxaca so that we can get these beautiful views ❤

Here we have the back part of the Templo de Santo Domingo, the front part is in my last picture.

This temple is one of the most iconic places in the city, on the side, you can find the and on the back. Sadly by the time all of them still closed to the public. Hope they open soon.
