I had a thought during the COVID 19 pandemic & decided to see how big Texas really is. Along with friends, we'll experience big miles, big tastes, and big adventures!

Day 6 – Lajitas to El Paso – Get Busy Livin’ – (368 miles)

After a much-needed night’s slumber at Lajitas Golf Resort, we packed up the car and headed down the River Road to Presidio. Day six is in the books. We’re in El Paso for the evening. This is what 2,155 miles looks like, once we started at Gainesville. Just a little more than 1,000 miles to go.

Day 5 – Eagle Pass to Lajitas – Views for Days (347 miles)

Leaving Eagle Pass, we took a drove by Amistad National Recreation Area. Flat Kelli and Flat Bob with Texas Country Reporter are making their way around Texas this week. They arrived at the Judge Roy Bean Visitor Center. Hope they’re not skirtin’ the law. We’re at our halfway point, having driven 1,560 miles so far around the perimeter of the Lone Star State.

Day 4 – South Padre Island to Eagle Pass – All about Raspas (347 miles)

Even though we are pressed for time at every town due to the length of our 3,100+ miles journey, we knew it was important to take a pause. We started Tuesday morning by taking in the sunrise on South Padre Island. As most sunrises are on the island, this was spectacular and a great way to begin our day. [ 456 more words ]
