The absolute best tacos 🌮 on the island. Today, I ordered the mahi fish tacos and they did not disappoint. Tacos Jalisco is an authentic Mexican food truck located next to Key Largo Chocolates and Ice Cream. Enjoy a nice slice of key lime pie after your mouth watering tacos.

It’s rare to have cool weather in Miami, even in winter. However, this Christmas and New Year’s brought us some nice nippy weather. That meant it was time for “s’more fun.” Roasting marshmallows and making s’mores is always a treat in our backyard fire pit.

Harry Harris Park has a beach, marina and playground. It is located 5 mins south of the house and is only $15 per vehicle to enter. You can pay once and re-enter the park all day long until sunset.

Fishing in snake creek by the mangroves. We took the little ones to fish and wanted to make sure we had enough action to keep them entertained. We took some chum and some ballyhoo. We were bringing in mangrove snappers back to back. All, except 3, were catch and release but it was great fun for them. 🎣 🦀 🐠

We started off fishing in the bay and within an hour, there was a strange fog that took over. It made visibility tough on the way back. This is our first encounter with this type of heavy fog in the area. Does anyone know what has caused it? This evening, we walked by the bay and it is still there.

Ziggie and Mad Dog’s in Islamorada is definitely the top restaurant for high quality steak 🥩 on the island. If you’re a steak lover, this place will not disappoint. The sides are also an amazing addition (creamed spinach was yum). Once we tried the appetizers (the scallops, pear salad, and the bread 🥖 ), we knew it was going to be an A+ meal.

The Juice House. The best local spot for natural fruit juices (the mango 🥭 juice is my favorite), but it’s my favorite spot for Cuban coffee and Cuban bread. They have a breakfast special for $2.99, and it’s worth making a stop here during your stay. There is also a lunch special with yummy authentic Cuban food. There’s something very cozy about ordering my “cafecito” from a pick up window. A must try is dipping your Cuban toast into your “cafe con leche.”

I just did my morning from our home to Harriet’s for an amazing breakfast. I paired my shrimp omelet with their homemade sauce, which was so tasty. I even added some of the sauces to my hash browns. The walk was lovely, and the scenic route to our adjacent neighborhood was beautiful.

This BBQ is fully electrical, which makes it so easy to use. In South Florida, every home is equipped with a BBQ and it is a big part of family weekend dinners. It gives you a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather while cooking your favorite meats or even your fresh catch of the day 🐟. This grill allows even novice BBQ cooks a chance to enjoy outdoor cooking without having to know how to operate a grill.

One year ago, we decided to share our piece of paradise with the rest of the world and begin renting our Key Largo home on a monthly basis. Over the past year, we were fully booked the entire year serving a total of 5 long term guests. It has been so rewarding and also a wonderful journey being able to host so many nice people from all over the globe. We have been blessed with the best guests and are so appreciative of the quality of guests we have had. Two more 5 star reviews, maintaining our status of perfect 5 star reviews! Thank you to our guests for making this process so enjoyable.

We learn and improve with each stay and are looking forward to year 2, with some of our prior guests already booked and returning again.

The Saharan dust made its way across the Atlantic Ocean this summer season, creating breathtaking sunrise and sunset colors.

A favorite local spot to watch Sunsets is Founders Park in Islamorada. A tip to seeing the sunset at no cost in this magnificent spot is to arrive after 7 pm but before sunset at 8 pm. It gives you the perfect window to watch the sunset from their beach and there is no entrance fee after 7 pm since they close at sunset. 🌅

Enjoying the new adirondack chairs. The comfort is out of this world as I sip my coffee on the front porch. ☕️ There is even an arm rest that serves as a small side table just perfect for a cup of coffee. Nothing compares to the real deal chairs. 🏝️

Today isn't the day you entered this world but is the day you entered our world and changed it forever! When we started our adoption journey, I had no idea where it would lead us. The weekend before we picked you up, I dreamed about you and the excitement of preparing for your arrival was overwhelming. When they placed you in my arms, this unexplainable emotion took over my body and the tears just kept coming down as I held you close and thanked God for choosing me to be your mommy. You looked at me with these big eyes and my heart felt like it was going to explode with the overload of emotions I was feeling. I don't think you will ever understand the magnitude of love I feel for you because I do not even have the words to begin to explain it. I hope you always feel it and know how deeply connected we are. You are my soul princess...the baby girl that I dreamed to life. You are teaching me what life is all about and how to be a better mommy for you. You embrace life and live each day as if it were an incredible adventure. You keep us on our toes but add sparkle and happiness to our world.
