We have created a highly interactive website in the hope that you will not only view and read about our journey, but will become a part of it. Our own journey is more than a physical exploration of a geography. Not only the physical boundaries of mountain and lake; the contrasts of city and wilderness…but als

o personal boundaries. We take four people who don’t all know each other and place them in a moving metal box for three months…

Four different age groups. Four different continents of origin. Four different religions. Four very different life experiences. What lies before us and how will sharing it with our world in turn shape our own world? What will prove to be our most useful possessions? What we will miss from our “normal” lives? Who will help us? Hemos creado un sitio Web sumamente interactivo y esperamos que tu, no solo veas y leas sobre nuestro viaje, sino que llegues a ser parte de ello. Nuestro propio viaje es más que una física exploración geográfica. Este viaje se trata de exploración de límites, no solo los límites físicos de montañas y lagos; los contrastes entre ciudades y desiertos… sino también límites personales. Tomamos cuatro personas quienes no se conocen en su totalidad unos a otros y los llevamos a muchos lugares en una caja de metal durante tres meses. Cuatro edades, continentes, religiones, lenguajes y experiencias de vida diferentes. Lo que tenemos por delante y ¿cómo lo compartiremos con nuestro mundo en torno a la forma de nuestro propio mundo?

I took a couple of skype calls, delivered some online training, attended a webinar and then we went food shopping with our hosts. The supermarkets have such interesting fruits here. We bought something that looks just like a turnip but is apparently sweet; tiny squidgy bananas that are in fact concentrated passion fruit tasting things and also coconut flavoured yoghurt drink.

Last week we saw The Revenant (not impressed) and decided to push the boat out by buying the premium seats. Tickets were £1.80 each. Tonight however we are going to a premiership match. We are currently staying less than 10 minutes walk from the stadium and some friends have got us ticket somewhere inside for £6 each.

Seven nights in motels/hotels. No rain. Turn up at the Grand Canyon to camp, start putting up the tent and an almighty thunderstorm explodes drenching us. Wet, wet, wet. Ten minutes after we finish, it stops.
Later on, still damp, we start cooking. Halfway through another thunderstorm explodes right above us – no seconds between lightning and thunder – and as Gonul carries on preparing pasta and veggies, I hold a bin bag above her head and the gas hob. It’s getting dark (at 6pm) and as I hold the bag up, rain pours down my sleeve soaking my fleece. My shorts are saturated as the rain lashes both of us.
