Macedonia
Macedonia - that unforgettable name evoking images of ancient, great civilizations and exotic adventure - is also a warm and welcoming modern-day republic in the very heart of southeastern Europe.

While easily accessible from all points abroad, and boasting all the amenities of the Western world, Macedonia remains one of Europe’s last great undiscovered countries: a natural paradise of mountains, lakes and rivers, where life moves to a different rhythm, amidst the sprawling grandeur of rich historical ruins and idyllic villages that have remained practically unchanged for centuries.
A fascinating country to explore that is still very much off the beaten path, Macedonia is blessed with incredible natural beauty and an intoxicating mix of cultures that draws on both Balkan and Mediterranean influences. For more information and best available prices go to https://bit.ly/3yyO3sq

Best Time To Buy Thanksgiving Tickets, According To Data

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, a lot of people are considering their travel plans. While as many as 109 million Americans will travel for Thanksgiving, only around 10.5 percent or about 11.5 million people will fly for the holiday.
Booking data shows that most travelers purchase their tickets anywhere from one to two months in advance of the holiday. For those travelers, pricing on the tickets remains more or less consistent with the pricing they see for flights during the rest of the year.
Of course, this year there is a lot of discussion about a looming recession and potential layoffs in the not-so-distant future. That makes a lot of travelers a little gun-shy about buying anything in advance or at full price.
There is some good news on that front for travelers who prefer saving a little on their Thanksgiving flight. Starting about 25 days out from Thanksgiving, the prices drop by an average of about $40.
Travelers with good risk tolerance can save an average of around $70 by waiting to book their tickets until a week or two in advance. It is a riskier move because airlines may run out of available seats if someone waits too long.
Traveling the Monday before Thanksgiving or on Thanksgiving day itself will typically offer the best pricing.
Domestic travelers can expect prices for round-trip tickets to run at approximately $350. International travelers, on the other hand, should brace for tickets to cost around $800 for round-trip flights. https://bit.ly/3yzOAKw

9 Best Beaches in PANAMA to Visit in November 2022 (+MAP)

Panama is a country that lies between two continents and two oceans with a rich culture and an amazing history. It is among the most beautiful countries in Latin America, and its coastline adds to this beauty with breathtaking beaches. The climate is amazing with summer being the predominant season all year round with some bit of rainfall in other months. As a tourist destination, it has some of the best-kept secrets for beach lovers looking for tranquility, peace, and relaxation. From Panama City to David, this nation’s beauty can be found virtually everywhere. If you’re looking to get away from the crowds with your family, friends or colleagues.

Here are nine of the best beaches in Panama
• Santa Catalina
• Playa Coronado
• The San Blas Archipelago
• Cayos Zapatilla, Bocas del Toro
• Starfish Beach, Bocas del Toro
• Playa Venao, Azuero Peninsula
• Red Frog Beach
• Punta Chame
• Isla Coiba, in Coiba National Park

The name may sound familiar because of the Catalina Islands in Los Angeles, California, but don’t worry, these are two different places. Santa Catalina is a small and mellow fishing village situated outside Panamanian surfers.
Santa Catalina, today, is a burgeoning surfing and fishing hotspot, but not just for the locals because it is on the Panamanian Highway 1.
The south side of the highway has a beautiful area of beaches and a lovely little town with plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops. If you are in Panama, Santa Catalina is where you go surfing or fishing. Surfers will find some great waves, including perennial favorites Caballito and El Tamarindo. In addition, surfing Santa Catalina also offers excellent opportunities for boat fishing as several mangroves within a few hundred meters of this beach make it ideal for fly fishing. It also allows you to launch your standup paddleboard or take a kayak trip from the beach to Isla Catalina.

Why do we recommend this beach?
It is excellent for getaway fishing and perfect for surfers out there. Moreover, the area is not crowded; it’s peaceful and quiet, so you can go to the beach with your family and enjoy yourself without any worries. Cost: This beach is on the “budget.”

Where to stay?
In Santa Catalina, there is no accommodation other than the camping spots in the nearby town of Estero Hondo. So if you are planning on staying a few days or a couple of weeks, we don’t recommend it. You can also find accommodations in Panama City, but they may be more expensive than Estero Hondo.

Novotel Devonport opens with 187 keys in Tasmania

The doors have officially opened at Novotel Devonport, north Tasmania’s most anticipated hotel launch for 2022. The perfectly positioned hotel boasts an unrivalled waterfront location overlooking the Mersey River, just a stone’s throw from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal, and offers guests a selection of 187 spacious, beautifully appointed accommodation options, including standard, superior and deluxe guestrooms with a choice of city or river views, along with a selection of luxurious executive suites.

Accor Pacific CEO, Sarah Derry, said: “It is an exciting time for Devonport; the city is on the verge of a tourism boom, with several major infrastructure works underway to revitalise the city. Novotel Devonport represents one of the most significant tourism investments in the region in years in the bustling coastal city of Devonport. Regional Tasmania holds great appeal for visitors and the presence of Novotel Devonport will contribute to the region’s ability to attract conferences and events. Novotel Devonport is a celebration of innovative interior design, thoughtful detail and will provide a great culinary experience, caring for guests and the local community.”

Interiors at the hotel are timeless and classic, with a neutral colour palette inspired by the natural beauty of Tasmania. Warm accents of red and yellow, seen in the leather and fabric upholstery of decorative furniture pieces, add depth and visual interest and all rooms feature a striking mural of north-west Tasmanian scenery by local photographer Nuala Byrne above the bedhead.

The Lyons Architecture-designed hotel was conceptualised to act as an iconic horizontal land bridge, visually connecting the Mersey River to the city of Devonport. The hotel seemingly floats above its parkland setting as a striking elevated structure propped on sculptural columns. Coinciding with the hotel’s debut is the opening of the Good Guy restaurant and bar, which is set to become Devonport’s newest gourmet destination. Diners will experience flavour-filled Southeast Asian street-food with a cheeky modern twist, utilising the best of Tasmanian produce.

The hotel also features 24-hour room service, 24-hour fitness centre, a meeting room for up to 20 delegates, and direct access to the paranaple convention centre. Novotel has one of the largest hotel brand footprints across Australia and New Zealand, with more than 40 hotels in key metropolitan and leisure destinations. The brand’s global reputation for intuitive, modern design and rewarding guest experiences will make Novotel Devonport a popular attraction in the city, with quality accommodation offerings despite being a major gateway for tourism and trade.
The bustling coastal city of Devonport is uniquely accessible by both land and sea. It is a gateway to Tasmania’s picturesque northwest region and beyond, with a bounty of fresh produce on its doorstep and plenty to explore right in town. For visitors arriving into Devonport on the Spirit of Tasmania, Novotel Devonport will act as a marker of the city, sitting with the paranaple convention centre and waterfront parkland as a new gateway to Devonport.

Opening Special: Be among the first to experience Novotel Devonport by taking advantage of its opening special fromUSD 269* per night in a Standard King Room, including 2-course dinner for two at Good Guy (food only) and buffet breakfast.

People prioritize holidays!

New figures indicate that people are continuing to prioritise holidays and other experiences as travel returns to post-pandemic normality with summer holiday daily spending doubling compared to June half-term – despite the cost-of-living crisis.
According to Currensea, which has created a money-saving travel card which links to people’s existing current accounts, UK travellers spent over £252 (approx. USD 286.42) per day on average across the summer holidays compared to just £125.50 (approx. USD 142.75) during the June half term*.
Holiday spending also increased significantly in the top five most popular countries for UK travellers as the travel recovery continues: Spain – 62% increase in spending, France – 102% increase in spending, USA – 46% increase in spending, Greece – 136% increase in spending, Italy – 17% increase in spending
Currensea’s figures also show that the average amount each person spent on food and drink jumped by 87% over the summer holidays compared to June half term – from £150 (approx. USD 170.61) to £280 (approx. USD318.48). Over the same period, spending on holiday entertainment – such as excursions – increased by 30% from £76 (approx. USD 86.44) to £99 (approx. USD 112.57). This echoes recent figures from Mastercard showing that overseas spending growth rapidly increased in the UK, with each month in 2022 more than double 2019 levels**.
This represents welcome news for the travel industry as it appears to have finally shrugged off the challenges of the pandemic. The latest figures from ACI Europe, the European airport trade body, revealed a 350% increase in passenger traffic in UK airports compared to last year.
James Lynn, co-founder of Currensea, adds: “Despite the financial pressures many households might be facing, there is still clearly huge appetite for overseas travel. “Of course, there will be challenges ahead with the cost-of-living crisis but millions of UK households appear to want to continue to ensure they spend on the experiences that matter.
“For those that are able to continue to travel, it’s important that they make every penny count. But UK travellers are currently wasting £2.7bn in foreign exchange fees every year by using their bank cards abroad. Given the cost-of-living crisis, it’s vital that people maximise their savings and avoid losing large chunks of their holiday savings by forking out on unnecessary bank fees rather than using lower-cost alternatives.”
Currensea is a travel debit card which uses open banking technology to allow travellers to spend directly from their existing current account when abroad – rather than needing to switch bank accounts or risk leaving money on a pre-paid card. It guarantees the best foreign exchange (FX) rates at only 0% to 0.5% above the FX base rate – which allows card users to save at least 85% – and up to 100% – on every transaction abroad by removing the normal fees leveraged by banks and other card providers.

Disney Cruises Unveils Its New Ship

Disney Cruise Line’s sixth ship, Disney Treasure, will join the fleet in 2024, and Peter Pan was on hand at the recent D23 Disney Fan Expo to assist unveil the ship’s details. On stage at the Anaheim event, the crew revealed the ship’s name and other unknown information to the audience by playing a smart concept film in which the famous character flies over the ship.

Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced that the Disney Treasure will have a brand-new theme, unlike anything Disney Cruise Line has done before and that the theme of adventure. Inspired by Walt Disney’s love of exploration, it is intended to serve as a platform for “epic experiences that immerse guests in some of the company’s most legendary stories.” “A treasure is at the core of every journey, and we can’t wait for you to make memories aboard this wonderful ship,” D’Amaro added.
The Grand Hall, he said, will radiate adventure, inviting guests to seek all the treasures on board from the moment they set sail, and will draw on real-world influences from Asia and Africa, as well as pay homage to the far-away land of Agrabah from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic tale, “Aladdin.”
The Disney Cruise Line distinctive atrium figure statue will represent Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Magic Carpet sailing out into the sunset towards “a whole new world of adventure.”
As a follow-up to the Disney Wish, which sailed away in July, this ship is expected to arrive in 2024. The second of three brand-new vessels scheduled for delivery by 2025 will provide 1,254 guest cabins.
Meanwhile, in late October 2023, Disney Cruise Line will begin offering “Disney Magic at Sea” trips to passengers in Australia and New Zealand. The ship is the final stop on these unique cruises, designed to provide local customers with an unforgettable experience inspired by their favourite Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars films.
Through February 2024, the Disney Wonder will set sail on “Disney Magic at Sea” trips from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland. These cruises range in length from two to six nights.

05/10/2022

“The economy is alive,” stated Bali Governor Wayan Koster at the Denpasar Art Center when he urged Balinese residents to stop moaning about traffic congestion on the island.
In his remarks, Koster recognized that 65% of Bali’s hotels are typically occupied. Hotels in several parts of Badung Regency are regularly booked at over 90% capacity.
According to him, restaurants are also getting crowded, and both beaches and highways are getting busier. “It used to be quiet, we enjoyed traveling, now we are starting to complain [about the traffic]. Don’t complain, because if it’s crowded, it means the economy is alive.”
Governor Koster continued to express his gratitude for the recovery of the Balinese economy, especially in the tourism industry. According to him, Bali is once again a “safe, comfortable and conducive tourist destination.” He asked the crowd to give a round of applause in support of tourism.
He emphasized that after a period of negative growth during the pandemic, the economy is now booming again. He explained that in 2020 and 2021, the economy would have negative growth of -9.31% and -2.47%, respectively. However, in 2022, Bali’s economy grew, he said.
Koster expressed hope that the economy would grow by about 3.5% by the end of 2022.
Canggu, formerly a tranquil coastal village, is now one of Bali’s busiest regions. Construction has exploded, but little has been done to improve the area’s infrastructure. Local moped riders and a few dozen cars or people carriers per hour were initially accommodated on the roads and streets, which are now considerably congested during rush hour and completely clogged at peak times.
The provincial government has been asked by local senators to review development budgets and determine if additional funds can be allocated to improve road infrastructure in popular tourist destinations like Canggu.
I Wayan Sandra, the head of the Badung DPRD, urged the province government to give Canggu more funding for road and wastewater management improvements at the Bali Regional Governments Budget meeting in early August.
His suggestions were taken into consideration, but until the area’s budget for the following year, there won’t be any more talk about funding increases.

US Travelers Can Get A Full Refund If They Cancel A Flight Within The First 24 Hours

Airlines are required by the “24-hour reservation requirement” rule to issue customers a full refund if they cancel their flight within 24 hours of purchasing a ticket.

All airlines that run flights inside the United States as well as those that fly in and out are subject to this regulation. Even if the fare was marked as non-refundable, the airline is required by the Department of Transportation to reimburse the full amount of the fare to the payment method used to make the reservation.

CONDITIONS APPLY
Only those who book directly with the airline are subject to this benefit. If you book your flight through a travel agency, you must follow their refund guidelines.

Airlines that let you hold a fare for 24 hours are another thing to be wary of. By providing this service, the airline is technically allowing you 24 hours to release the hold. As a result, they are fulfilling their part of the criteria, claims the DOT. You will no longer be able to benefit from the 24-hour rule if you hold a fare and ultimately purchase it.

Last but not least, flights booked within a window of 7 days before departure are exempt from this rule. You cannot benefit from the 24-hour rule if you book a flight for a Friday on the Monday before.

WHEN AND HOW YO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE RULE.
Not only when you have a family emergency and you have to cancel. You can also use it to save some money. If you buy a ticket and it drops significantly in price within 24 hours, you can use the rule to cancel it and rebook it at a lower price.

02/10/2022

Saudi Arabia’s exponential sector growth has seen an extraordinary +121% increase from pre-pandemic international tourism levels as recognized by the newly published UNWTO Tourism Barometer. The substantial tourism recovery recognizes not only Saudi’s considerable investment in tourism, but also the country’s pioneering leadership in future-proofing its tourism sector. Saudi was swift in its response to the pandemic and rolled out vaccines to ensure high immunization rates quickly which accelerated the easing of restrictions and the reopening of the country to tourists. The government also implemented several measures aimed at supporting companies and employees working in the tourism sector thereby mitigating the effects of the pandemic. Tourism is a key pillar of Saudi’s transformative Vision 2030 and the country has ambitious goals to ensure that tourism contributes 10% of the country’s GDP by 2030, with one million jobs created along the way. According to the UNWTO Tourism Barometer, the global tourism sector saw international tourist arrivals almost triple from January to July 2022 (+172%) compared to the same period of 2021. This means the sector recovered to almost 60% of pre-pandemic levels. Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, and chairman of the board of Saudi Tourism Authority said: “Recognition of Saudi’s achievements in the UNWTO Tourism Barometer is a key milestone in our extraordinary recovery and much of the success lies in our leadership’s multipronged approach to managing the pandemic and accelerating the sector’s pace of recovery. Saudi opened to the world in September 2019 and through continued leadership and commitment, we have made incomparable progress toward realizing our ambitious Vision 2030 tourism goals. We are invested in a sustainable future for tourism, and today I am proud of Saudi’s position as the fastest growing tourism destination in the G20.” In 2020, Saudi Arabia’s G20 leadership shaped strategies for recovery to foster a more sustainable and resilient sector, and today, Saudi Arabia has outperformed the G20 countries in pre-pandemic tourism recovery. A core pillar of Saudi’s transformative Vision 2030, an ambitious roadmap for the future, building a resilient tourism ecosystem is fundamental to the Kingdom’s economic diversification strategy, with people at its core. In line with the National Tourism Strategy, Saudi has ambitious goals to ensure that tourism contributes 10% of the country’s GDP by 2030, with one million jobs created along the way.
