If you are a S*x and the City fan, then you will recall the episode when Carrie's laptop got a "sad mac". Well I don't have a Mac, but I just dropped my baby off at Best Buy to have the hard drive replaced after getting a vicious message about my laptop being in imminent danger. It probably wasn't as dramatic as that, but you catch my drift.

I've had this laptop since 2018.

I remember watching that SATC episode thinking that Carrie was completely overreacting.

I now get it. Things change. Technology changes faster than we can think at times. But sometimes the things in our life hold value that cannot be measured. I purchased that laptop when I took my first steps on our YouTube journey on Zoëlle's World. That laptop has been to countless countries and holds many memories. All of that can easily be backed up, but with changes in technology comes changes in design.

After 40 minutes in the store and online with the HP rep, nothing felt comparable. The new 2 in 1 models don't have the side number keypad. The side number keypad is super convenient. I know because I've had to use Zoëlle's laptop without it and hated it.

The speakers are now on both sides instead of across the top.

There are few models that have a fingerprint scanner. Silly, maybe, but so convenient to have it unlock at the touch of a finger.

Even the sleek design has been traded for a more bubble looking design, and to get the weight, I have to go down in size and to get the size, I have to go up in weight.

This episode with my laptop has reminded me of how quickly things evolve, yet how some things hold a timeless value in our hearts. But now comes the conundrum of finding a worthy successor to my travel buddy.
