Yellowstone National Park will begin allowing visitors to access the park's south loop via the East, South and West Entrances only at 8:00 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, using an Alternating License Plate System (ALPS). Entrances, roads, and the backcountry were temporarily closed due to hazardous conditions from recent flooding. The park’s north loop, along with the North and Northeast Entrances, remain closed due to flood damage until further notice.

To ensure the south loop does not become overwhelmed with visitors, the park is instituting an interim visitor access plan, referred to as the Alternating License Plate System.

I have never put a client on Spirit nor flown them myself. The whole industry is a mess right now. They need people to get back to work, realizing some cannot work right now due to COVID, but unfortunately you always have plenty that are trying to work the system.☹

If your passport expires in 2022, start the process now. Processing times have gone up from 4-6 weeks to now up to 24 weeks (6 month backlog). Last week it was 18 weeks. The line keeps growing and over 2.2 million passport applications are already in line ahead of you. Even expedited passports are 12-18 weeks. Emergency passports are being restricted to life and death situations only. Walk-ins are still not available in most regional passport offices. If you aren’t sure when yours expires, go look. Passports are only accepted by most airlines if you have six months or more left from your travel return date. So really, a passport expiring on 12/31/22, will most likely not be accepted for travel after 6/30/22. Just a PSA.
