🚨BUYER BEWARE🚨
I am a Certified RV Inspector with the NRVIA, and I’ve done many inspections at many dealers, and never had any issues. Lately, I’ve come across a dealer, called Blue Compass, they are nationwide, and seem to be growing. Last week I had a client want an inspection done on a brand new Keystone Montana, and the dealership would not allow me to be on property to inspect. They say their insurance doesn’t cover it. I will tell you that, if you get a Certified RV Inspector, they, as am I, are fully insured. They also claim to have Certified RV Technicians that do a thorough inspection of any RV that is sold. While I’m not discounting the quality of their technicians, the fact is they are paid by the dealership. The main reason for getting a third-party inspector is so that you have a unbiased person that’s on YOUR side, that will look out for YOU as a client. The dealers best interest is to make the sale and tell you that whatever needs to be fixed, will be covered under warranty. Well, that is true, however, getting warranty work done on an RV is not an easy process. It is 100% better to have found the issues before signing the contract and buying the RV because they will fix them immediately to make the sale go through. My client ended up backing out of the sale and I helped him find one of a similar floorplan in a different area and the dealership was 100% encouraging third-party inspectors because this dealership actually cares about their customers.
Quick fact, the misconception about RV inspectors is that we are there to kill the deal for the dealership or a private party, the fact is, we’re there to help them make the sale get done because, it is in the customers best interest if we find the issues before they do. No matter where are you located or where the RV you’re looking at that is located, you can find a Certified RV Inspector at…

Please please please, do your homework and do your research and if you find a dealership or a private party, that does not allow third-party inspectors, walk away! There are plenty of dealers and private sellers that will.
I am making this post to make new buyers aware of this dealership. I think it’s bad business for a dealership to not allow third-party inspectors. Maybe, if enough people make noise about this, they will change their views. I’m not making this post because I am bitter about losing a couple inspections because of this dealership, I’m making this post because I genuinely care about people who buy RVs and want them to have a great experience because as a full-timer myself, it’s nice to know you have somebody looking out for YOU! Because the sad truth is, most dealerships are not looking out for you, they’re looking out for themselves!
