Nature in the South of France is amazing 🤩

We have so many cool spots to explore here. This is a bridge from 1860 that divided France and Comté de Savoie.

This is the river of Riolan.

As this is a secret spot and hard access, we were alone most of the day. It was amazing 😍

The updated list of Michelin-starred restaurants was released recently, and the Southern France region was honored with 62 new restaurants! Here are a few that I’ve been to.

⭐️⭐️⭐️Mirazur: Under the leadership of renowned chef Marco Colagreco, my visit to this restaurant stood out as one of the most memorable gastronomic experiences I’ve ever had. The menu is meticulously crafted, following the phases of the moon, and each day presents a distinct theme. On the occasion I was there, the theme was “roots,” reflected in dishes packed with ingredients like beets, carrots, and others. Each dish was an explosion of carefully harmonized flavors, and the service was truly impeccable.

⭐️JAN: Located under the command of talented South African chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, the JAN restaurant offers a menu predominantly inspired by the rich gastronomy of its home country, with a delightful fusion of influences from the South of France. My experience there was truly wonderful. Contrary to what many may assume, the dishes are generously portioned, and I left completely satisfied.

The Day of New Beaujolais, celebrated in France on the third Thursday of November, marks the release of Beaujolais Nouveau wine.

This wine is known for being young, light, and fruity, produced quickly through the "maceration carbonique" technique. This rapid fermentation process allows the wine to be made in just a few weeks, resulting in a young and fresh product.

The reputation of this wine can be subjective, with some enthusiasts praising its freshness and simplicity, while others prefer more complex and aged wines.

The Beaujolais region is located in Burgundy, eastern France, known for its red wines made from the Gamay grape.

Yesterday, all the wine bars in France celebrated the date with wine tastings. Surprisingly, it was the first year I went out on this day, and I loved it!

Were you already familiar with this wine? 🍷

All you need to know about: Villefranche-sur-Mer

🚕 How to get there?
It’s very close to Nice, you can go by car, it’s about 20 minutes.
By train is around 15 minutes
You can also walk, there is a nice walk by the sea from Nice Port to there

🤷🏽‍♀️ what to do?
It’s super tiny, couple of hours is more than enough to visit the old town and walk around the beach.
The beach is pretty however is very small, so I don’t recommend during summer. It’s way too full.

Where to eat?
There are many restaurants, my favorite is . They serve south of France dishes and it’s by the port, so you can have your meal with a nice view.

⏱️ when to go?
I actually love this town during winter because it’s so calm and cute! During the cold months, my recommendation is to go during lunch time. This way you can enjoy the sun.
During summer I recommend end of the afternoon for the apero and sunset 🌅

Do you know we have a hidden paradise in the south of France?

The Mercantour National Park, known in French as "Parc National du Mercantour," is a protected area here in the South of France, it's wonderful!

It's a mountainous area with peaks exceeding 3,000 meters, full of adorable animals and history.

The best way to get there is by car, depending on your destination, it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Nice. For nature enthusiasts, it's an amazing experience during a trip through the South of France! There are several trails to hike, ranging from easy to difficult.

The park is dedicated to the protection of nature and wildlife, with strict regulations to minimize human impact on the area. So, when you go, always take your trash back home.

Isn't it beautiful?

Don’t go to L’Esterel 😤

Just kidding, this is actually the best area to enjoy the beach! I just wanted to keep it to myself 😂

There are many “calanques” you can stop and go down to enjoy the beach. This region is super cool to do snorkeling as well.

Some tips tough:

- parking spaces are limited and the calanques beaches are very small

- the calanques don’t have shower or any kind of structure. But there are other beaches around that has. (Example: Agay)

- take ALL your trash with you when you leave

- drive safely, there are many people cycling. However, this is the most beautiful drive 😍
