I am from Michigan, born and raised. My parents owned a 12 log cabin resort on Torch Lake in Eastport Michigan, very much like this one. I live in Florida now, but my whole family is still in Michigan, and my 2 beautiful granddaughters. I just purchased this sweet little log cabin in July 2019. My granddaughters 5yrs, and 9 yrs, went cottage shopping with me, and the 3 of us fell in love with this property, me because it reminds me of my childhood, them because they love the back yard, and the bon fires, and the 3 of us have s'more making contests. It is also a great place for them to ride their scooters. I have a big circle drive, and we ride the few blocks down to the road end access of Houghton Lake. I will buy a golf cart to take down to the water with beach chairs and cooler next summer, they will love that, and I hope my vacation guests will also. This cabin is located in the middle of 3 lots, so plenty of room, and very woodsy, even though you are only a little over a block to M-55, the main road in Houghton Lake, and we are very near by all of the conveniences that Houghton Lake has to offer, restaurants, bars, grocery, gift shops, golf courses, and kids outdoor play land with bounce houses, bumper boats, mini golf....it is impossible to be bored in this town.
We are excited to stay at and enjoy our beautiful log cottage, and explore Houghton Lake from the water, and from the land, and when we are not here, I would like to share that with you. I hope you love it and take care of it, knowing it is our little piece of Michigan paradise.
I fell in love with this property immediately, but it quickly went under contract with someone else. My friend Mary, my realtor called me one day and said that deal fell through and this sweet little log cabin was on the market again. She went there for me as I live in Florida. I offered sight unseen....I knew. When I came home to Michigan to close, it was the first time I had physically been to the cottage. When I walked in~ it was the feeling that struck me most, I knew it~ I was home
